WHAT THE LETTERMAN/PALIN THING REVEALS

From Michael S. Ruhl Jr., at Big Hollywood:
Palin is the philosophical descendant of those who created this country’s constitution; Couric and Letterman, on the other hand, like much of the Bi-Coastal Media/Entertainment Left, are more consistent with the self annihilating philosophy of moral relativism. While Palin is intelligent and constant in her views, I make no similar claims specifically about Letterman and Couric, relative to their views. They strike me as shallow and weak. Palin implicitly understands the limitations of Reason. Moral relativists do not. Our founding fathers also understood man’s limitations and established a constitution whose core principle was Liberty, supported strongly by laws to protect this Liberty. The Left, on the other hand, believe that “truth” can be imposed on individuals and society as a whole. Many have commented on the futility of the latter. Frederich Hayek’sThe Road To Serfdom is the clearest explanation of how that view ultimately and logically has lead to totalitarianism; the ultimate expression of political nihilism and its philosophical antecedent, moral relativism.

This philosophical divide is one reason for the Left’s hysteria over Palin’s very existence. It is as if, somewhere down in the lizard portion of their brain (You Have Three Brains), they understand her way of thinking could lay bare the implicit nihilism in theirs. The more ignorant element of the Left pretends that Palin is so obviously stupid, vapid and reactionary that she is fair game for dehumanization.
....
If one has any doubt about the logical implications of moral relativism run amok, one need look no further than Princeton’s “Bioethicist”, Professor Peter Singer. Singer believes in a concept called “speciesism“. The simplest way to understand this philosophy is to watch a Geico Caveman commercial. Speciesism believes no one species (for example, humans) have superior rights over any other species (for example, rodents). Singer also believes families can kill their own disabled babies. Singer is a true idiot, even as his views are, in fact, logically consistent with much of what is believed by the Left. He simply is drawing out some of its philosophical implications. But people like Palin already know that at “the end of that path” is nothingness.
And the best line:
Palin’s language is always the same. She speaks about everything in a straight forward manner without straining for audience approval. She is direct. She does not use tortured logic, cheap philosophical tricks, or desperate techniques. She speaks English.

For some reason, this drives the Left nuts.

Another take on Palin, from American Thinker:

The best and the brightest on the left go into politics. The best on the right run their own businesses. So it is no surprise that the left is far more adept, even expert at the art of hardball politics. And they are telling us something profound.

The left is telling us something many feel, many find as a hunch, that Sarah Palin is the most dangerous threat to the Obama administration with no close second. The left is telling us this by their "over the top" attacks. Not just the Letterman assaults, but the constant barrage of grievances filed against her in Alaska. The attacks every day on Palin for no apparent reason -- except that the left seems to see her quite differently from any Republican candidate. A difference of kind, not of degree.
...
What is the Sarah difference? ... It is the charisma factor. Charisma is not learned, it is innate. One is born with it and no amount of training can inject it.
....

The street fighting, world class, lifelong political experts of the left see "it" and it makes them crazy. They went crazy for Obama; they are going crazy for Palin, although in the other direction.

Palin could fill a stadium if she were reciting a cookbook. But she isn't. She is delivering common sense to an electorate that is becoming ever more jaded every day with the Obama nonsense. Miranda rights for terrorists? $4 trillion deficit?
....

The left is telling us something and they are the experts. They are telling us not to make Palin the conservative candidate because if we do, it will be humiliating. I agree with them and I take them at their word.

It will be the undoing of Obama, and it may be overwhelming.

Letterman is a deranged slob- and his tired 1985 schtick’s about as funny as a train wreck. I say give Todd Palin five minutes alone with this creep- maybe then he’d get the hard education in moral clarity that he so obviously lacks.

And if Sarah Palin is SO silly and irrelevant, why the obsession?
Clearly the Left noted her appeal, and are out to eliminate the threat- it’s not like it’s not obvious. She’s been highly successful in life while ignoring the left-wing feminist model… this helps to explain the extra dose of venom in the attacks.

Go get em, Sarah- and don’t mind the press, nobody will be listening to them anymore after the pending Obamamania implosion-

Amen to that.

A genuine person that speaks from the heart is the biggest threat that the bitter, post-modern left can conceive.
