HEH HEH HEH....AS IF VALUES MATTERED!

I distinguish between two kinds of politicians. There are those who view politics as a tactical game, a game in which they do not reveal any individuality, in which they lose their own face. There are, however, leaders for whom politics is a means of defending and furthering values. For them, it is a moral pursuit. They do so because the values they cherish are endangered. They're convinced that there are values worth living for, and even values worth dying for. Otherwise they would consider their life and work pointless. Only such politicians are great politicians and Ronald Reagan was one of them.

So what if The One gives only late, mealy-mouthed sorta-kinda support to the brave women and men being killed in the streets of Iran, dying for democracy and freedom?

On Tuesday Barack Obama said he believed the ayatollah's decision to order an investigation "indicates he understands the Iranian people have deep concerns." Obama also said it would not be helpful if the United States was seen by the world as "meddling" in the issue. (Gateway Pundit)

OK, well maybe he didn't

But still, didn't you learn during the election? Its the color of your skin that matters, not the content of your character. We have a black president- that's what matters! Asking for him to value and support freedom and think beyond himself is un-necessary. And anyhow, exactly how much can anyone actually care about freedom who is working to institute total government control over our lives? Kinda unrealistic, doncha think?

Come to think of it, he and the mullahs actually have a lot in common.
