From Pew Research Center:
Among mainline Protestants, acceptance of homosexuality stands at 56%, higher than among the total U.S. population (50%).

From Pajamas Media, learn some more about your deity:

Barack Obama has long been known for his socialistic convictions and messianic tendencies. That he therefore wants to rule rather than represent and to dictate rather than debate is not hard to understand. And while he may not come right out and say it, he expects us to pledge allegiance to him. He said as much when he told Republican House members just three days after his inauguration that the quicker they quit listening to voices that run counter to his, the better for us all.

The scary news is that our president is a self-aggrandizing anti-capitalist with or without the support of Farrakhan and the Latin communists, and therefore has no problem overseeing a federal government eager to take over more aspects of our everyday lives. For the more Obama co-opts, the more we have to focus on him. And please don’t fail to understand that this includes religion in the United States — especially Christianity.

Obama wants his judgments and convictions to be our guide in all spheres of life, even when his judgments run 180 degrees counter to the natural law that guided our Founders or the Bibles that guided the Puritans.

Obama has long been opposed to the traditional values that undergird this nation and has been wise enough to war against those values in the name of those values, thus disorienting those whom he can’t intellectually disarm. For example, when he discusses any of his personal positions that go against the Christian faith, such as his pro-abortion stance, he always makes certain to mention that he’s a Christian in the process. The implication being that Christianity’s chief characteristic is some vague acceptance of all positions as equally valid instead of the orthodox, historical Christian insistence on truth and justice, good and evil.

When it comes to economics, Obama’s mode of operation is similar to that which he uses when talking to religious universities and Christian congregations. Therefore, although he’s only been in office since January 20, 2009, he’s been able to move at a speed that disorients those he can’t convert and has succeeded in the quasi-nationalization of many banks, financial institutions, and the American auto industry. He’s openly setting his sights on our health care system now, which means the Latin American communist leaders who asked Obama to join their war against capitalism should feel encouraged that things are going their way here in the United States.

Of course, Obama always says government bailouts (takeovers) are just temporary and that he only resorts to them as a last-ditch effort to save the economy. But the fact that he has that cheese-eating grin on his face every time he announces more government involvement seems dubious.

Stumbled across a link to this article by David Mamet in, of all places, The Village Voice, from about a year ago. Sure musta made some heads burst over there, as it is entitled, "Why I am no Longer a Brain-dead Liberal."

Its full of obvious, common-sense arguments that even an ivory-tower, ivy-league intellectual can understand. Check it out.

We have been assured that this attempt at silencing any non-government approved speech has been stopped, so you can rest easy, right?

Ha. Like you really believe a tiger is gonna change his stripes. Liberals are always so direct and honest about what they do!

Well its back. They've just re-branded it and are using a back-door method now, called localism.

...obvious to all, that is, but the pampered U.S. populace stoned on Obama Kool-Aid:

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe. (Pravda)

This comes from Russia, a'ight!? They just might know what the hell they're talkin' about.

Wish we had a mainstream media as good as theirs.

Good God. All the hand wringing goin' on with the RINOS over others in the party labeling this a racist statement October 26 2001:
"I would hope that a wise white male, with the richness of his experiences, would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latina woman who hasn't lived that life."

sorry, I mean she said:
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman, with the richness of her experiences, would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

Yeah. Out of context. Exactly what context could this statement be in and not be racist?

Further, why oh WHY would anyone think that this is a racist statement, coming from a lifelong member of an organization, La Raza (The Race)? Michelle Malkin has a list of hair-raising crap that The Race is pushing- check it out- here's a couple of fun facts about The Race:

“U.S. English is to Hispanics as the Ku Klux Klan is to blacks.”

“The Race” gives mainstream cover to a poisonous subset of ideological satellites, led by Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA). The late GOP Rep. Charlie Norwood rightly characterized the organization as “a radical racist group . . . one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a racist nation out of the American West.”

“The Race” sponsors militant ethnic nationalist charter schools subsidized by your public tax dollars (at least $8 million in federal education grants). The schools include Aztlan Academy in Tucson, Ariz., the Mexicayotl Academy in Nogales, Ariz., Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School in St. Paul, Minn., and La Academia Semillas del Pueblo in Los Angeles, whose principal inveighed: “We don’t want to drink from a White water fountain, we have our own wells and our natural reservoirs and our way of collecting rain in our aqueducts. We don’t need a White water fountain . . . ultimately the White way, the American way, the neo liberal, capitalist way of life will eventually lead to our own destruction.”

More here.

And the final word, from the awesome People's Cube:

With the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor, DEAR LEADER is finally able to destroy the dream of that evil Rethuglikkkan Traitor-to-His-Racetm, Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King foolishly dreamed of judging people by the content of their character, not by the color of their skin. We Progressives PROGS know better: the color of a person’s skin is the only thing by which we must judge a person. Except for the pigment-challenged members of the The Partytm, all white people are, by virtue of their race, evil.

The economy continues its decline. The One recently said publicly that "we are out of money," yet he continues to spend like a drunken sailor. Now he's pushing cap and trade, to solve the non-existent global warming crisis that was invented to necessitate more control over the population in order to help us poor idiots. So how will this cap and trade effect the economy?

"Under my plan of a cap and trade system electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Businesses would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that cost onto consumers."

Senator Barack Obama
Speaking on his energy policies
San Francisco Chronicle

That's a GREAT idea! The economy will bloom like a friggin' flower!

From an article about Der Messiah's idea for a new Cyber-czar at Big Hollywood:

Call me paranoid, but does it seem to anyone else that Big Brother is creeping into literally every aspect of our lives? I know we have a national crisis virtually every ten minutes, and Barry ‘the Messiah’ Obama can easily turn waterboard into whine. But come on!! Does this guy ever sleep? Every day I awaken to a new ‘program’ of the President’s that is going to ‘take care’ of us and ‘protect’ us from some new crisis. And as anyone knows who has been paying attention the past fifty years or so (All right, I’ve only been paying attention the last thirty years, but I read history.)…every new government program costs us each dearly in the form of higher taxes, greater debt and reduces Liberty in the form of new laws, regulations and restricted freedoms.

President Obama, when commenting upon his administration’s first four months, was quoted as saying, “You ain’t seen nothing yet!”

Sadly…I believe him.

Stoned on chope, played and enslaved. When will we get to the waking-the-hell-up part?

From Barack Obama's Teleprompter's Blog:

Harry Reid told his friends in Las Vegas the other night that, “[T]he best part of Barack Obama is his heart is bigger than any heart in the world.”

This is absolutely true. In fact every part of Big Guy is bigger than just about any other part in the world. So I don't see why everyone is so surprised that his spending is bigger than anyone in the history of the world.

(this site is shear genius!)

...if its done by black racist thugs. The Department of justice dropping its case against the Black Panthers that blocked a polling place wearing jackboots and brandishing clubs while they yelled such things as, “You are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker.” (more here here and here)

Yup. Just dropped it. Despite the fact that it's a case they had already won by default judgment.

Despite the fact that the voter intimidation laws came about during the civil rights era to protect black voters from idiot racist Klansmen.

And Right Wing News points out:
Remember the uproar during the 2004 presidential election about supposed voter disenfranchisement and voter intimidation that allegedly took place in Florida. Reports of blacks being stopped at police roadblocks and turned away from voting places? The Civil Rights Commission as well as numerous media outlets descended on the state in an attempt to validate the rumors. The story remains an urban myth to this day despite the fact that no evidence of any of that taking place was found.

So to review: if its imaginary, its bad. If its real, its good.

If its white guys in hoods waving clubs and calling people nigger, its bad.
If its black guys in jackboots waving clubs and calling people crackers, its fine.

Hope. Change.

The dawn may be breaking:

Eric Ostermeier at the University of Minnesota has been parsing 160 polls taken recently in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest, and found a surprising result. Despite having elected Barack Obama by wide margins in most of the states, voters in the region have become more conservative over the past two years. Self-identifying conservatives have reached their highest levels in at least four years (Hot Air)

Just a theory, but I think most people denied something will want it all the more. Especially Americans. Its that pesky freedom thing. But now that The Glorious Revolution is underway, thinking for yourself, and saying what you want, is becoming increasing verboten.

Tell me I am not ALLOWED to use more than two sheets of TP or I hate the earth and I'm gonna wipe my ass with a ROLL. I'm bettin' a lot of people feel the same way.

Der Messiah learns of the existence of a Defense Dept. agency for the first a fast food joint.

I feel safe now.

You VILL tow the party line! From Hot Air, the Special Counsel to the President on Ethics and Government Reform (yes...ethics! Is to laugh!) just said:
Silencing dissent and criticism is “necessary under the unique circumstances of the stimulus program”...

Remember when the Left took to the streets to declare dissent “patriotic” during wartime? I didn’t have a problem with dissent then, but apparently the Left has a curious definition of “patriotism”. Now, suddenly, the federal government can silence their critics at will, not to protect critical national-security programs or keep from undermining a war effort, but to protect a Democratic president intent on seizing control of private industry across a wide swath of the nation. Suddenly, that kind of dissent threatens America.
I don't know why anyone would say anything about fascist tendencies in reference to The One!

Notice the pattern. Free speech is only for the left. The right, being eeeeevil, must be silenced. Besides, like Homeland Security has said more than once, they are potential terrorists. We can't have them speaking truth to power or nuthin!

Hilareous. Cheney calls them on the carpet and they got nuthin but this? :
...Cheney put his reputation on the line and started turning up on television everywhere to make the case that enhanced interrogation works, even though he secretly knows it doesn’t? And Obama has the smoking-gun memos in his possession and could destroy Cheney at any moment by declassifying them — and yet hasn’t? And Cheney knows that, and yet still he presses on? (Hot Air)

The scary part is how the Kool-Aid buzz keeps so many from getting even a whiff of the total lameness of their denials and lying. I mean, how pathetic can you get?:

It worked and you have the proof!

Uh UH!

Then show us.

No. I don't WANT to.

Cause you know I'm right.

Are NOT! You're just a stupid, dumb-head nong nong! NYAH!

Why do so many heroes come from small towns and rural parts of the country? Rick Moran has some ideas.

Callin' it what it is: Thomas Sowell!

Wait....does this make him racist?

It gives me a warm feeling to know that we are likely headed for an economy much like Zimbabwe's. Power to the people!

(image via IMAO)

Another great posting from Dr. Sanity:

...when it comes to themselves, the left is constitutionally unable to understand or accept the dark side of their own natures with any degree of clarity, let alone honesty.

The squalid utopian fantasies of socialism, communism--or any variant of Marxism for that matter--appeals primarily to people who refuse to acknowledge their own human imperfections, and hence their own capacity for evil. They don't want to admit it, but those who are drawn to the leftist view of the world, tend to see themselves as superior; above all the boring, ordinary human beings around them; more virtuous, more compassionate, smarter; and of course, much better qualified to decide what's best for lesser beings like you and me....

Conservatism and capitalism are both ideas that have worked amazingly well for one reason: they do not pretend that human nature is something it is not. Leftism of any stripe fails miserably and catastrophically because they routinely pretend that human nature can be changed and perfected.
They strive to create Heaven on earth but only ever succeed in creating Hell. Mussolini, Pol Pot, Lenin....they all truly cared about people and wanted to create a paradise. Wonder how well it will work this time with Jugears McMarxist?

Well worth reading it all.
THE NEW AGE IS HERE! (welcome to Hell....)

Charles Winecoff has another excellent article. Does this guy write anything crappy?
He's goin' on this time about the creepy New Age worship of The One and the insanity of their Fundamentalist Liberal Religion. Here's a bit:

San Francisco columnist Mark Morford hails Obama a “Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being… who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet… help us evolve.”

This sent me on an inner journey - wondering if people really believe this kind of mumbo-jumbo when it comes to crass US politics. Have the daily niceties of Oprah rotted our brains that much? Or is there something else, possibly less benign, behind such trendy prophecies?

In places like Beverly Hills and Santa Fe, pampered prophets pull out the spiritual card at the first sign of any unmonitored human emotion - usually anger, which they themselves invariably stuff and cover with sinister calm. Express anything less than total satisfaction with the latest Presidential flip-flop on national defense, Michelle Obama’s arms, or that (suspiciously Marxist) five-year cyber-pledge to visualize world peace - and you’ll get this typical, flat response:

“I’m concerned about you. Have you read Eckhart Tolle?”

You mean the guy who alleviates liberal guilt by perpetuating the multicultural myth that the white man (me) is inherently cruel and that Western industrialization is the cancer of the planet? Yes I have - and once was enough. But thanks for caring.

Such compassion. Yet the same enlightened believers who rage against “Catholic guilt” (and sympathize with Muslim rage), who claim that Evangelical Christians hold Washington in their grip, and scream that Mormons keep gays oppressed, are the first to use their own smug, metaphysical superiority as a psychological shiv to bring non-believers, apostates - and anyone not registered as a Democrat - to their knees.

Call it New Age jihad. Since 9/11, the religion of anti-Americanism has been winning hearts, minds, and souls faster than the much-dreaded Christianity or the celebrity cult of Scientology - and it’s keeping neck-in-neck with that poor, misunderstood underdog called Islam. But at least the New Age movement is capitalistic. In fact, it’s ruthlessly profit-driven - a booming cottage industry that thrives on Anglo-guilt as it shamelessly trivializes the indigenous (i.e. Native American) beliefs it pretends to venerate.

In other words, nondenominational self-loathing has become an urban guilty pleasure. Or, as Marianne Williamson put it, “The search for God is a lifestyle decision.”

Read it all.

I laughed my ASS off watchin the premier episode of "The Goode Family" on ABC last night. Its about an ultra-PC green livin' family of nut-jobs by the creator of King of the Hill (in my opinion hands-down the best television available the last few years), Mike Judd. Hilarious, but not mean spirited.

If you need any other reason to watch it, how bout this snotty review from the NYTimes:

…the show feels aggressively off-zeitgeist, as if it had been incubated in the early to mid-’90s when it was still possible to find global-warming skeptics among even the reasonable and informed.

I won't miss an episode if they keep it up....

...for the Constitution.

You know, the document that The One has declared to be "fundamentally flawed," and how justices need to "break free from its essential constraints."

Stupid Constitution, always getting in the way of Totalitarian Marxist hope n change n such!

First, ya gotta love this classic liberal M.O. - She says that courts, contrary to the Constitution, are where policy is made (vid below). They aren't there to blindly enforce the law, they are there to make the law. Then she cackles about how she's "not supposed to say that" wink wink nudge nudge. Lying about her intentions is second nature with her, as it is with the Obamunist, as it is with most liberals. It's the success of the glorious revolution that matters, not the means. The ignorant public must be played so that they can be helped. Stupid public.

And guns? She argues that they have never been allowed to anyone outside of the military. The right to bear arms doesn't even exist, according to Ms. Sotomayor.

And finally, she is a unrepentant racist:

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life,”

Try reversing that statement and think about the holy hell that would rightfully be unleashed!

I like this statement from John Romano:
(the) Democrats’ attempts to silence all debate by loosely throwing around racism charges was a key ingredient in getting Obama elected. With Obama, we never even got to see his school records (obviously there is something to hide or they would have been released); even asking to see his grades somehow became racist. Let’s not make the same mistake again with Sotomayor.

It's kinder...gentler...

It's not enough that the MSM is so close to our Leader that if he stopped walking suddenly they would all have broken noses. No, the One has chose to have his own media entity, complete with logo. Recently they denied the...uh...independent (hahaha...I kill myself!) media organizations from filming him, making them use the footage His minions put out. Now this, on his Club Gitmo reading-of-the-teleprompter, from Ace of Spades:
It's unbelievable that the White House would just release this under the guise of a dispassionate news analysis, claiming their boss did such a wonderful job.

They follow with the actual release (I'll spare you the nausea). But gets better:
That's the AP's official "analysis."

(now c'mon! that's not creepy! That's chope! Embrace the future!)

Goebbels would be proud!

Joe Biden- the gift that keeps on giving! He just publicly confirmed what Cheney said about Jugear's Gitmo non-plans:

"But, look, what the president said is that this is going to be hard. It's like opening Pandora's Box. We don't know what's inside the box."

He also said that "to the best of my knowledge" the number of prisoners "who are a real danger who are not able to returned or tried" has "not been established" by the Obama administration.

So he basically just confirmed his predecessor Dick Cheney's analysis that the decision was taken "with little deliberation, and no plan". (Telegraph)

I love these because I can so identify. From American Thinker:

So what do you do when you realize that everything you've ever thought and believed no longer worked for you? Where do you go when the bubble of progressive politics bursts in your face and you're left in the leftist place on earth? It seems that the choices are as follows: either you cling to your beliefs even more zealously and attack anyone who dares to disagree. Or, if you're like me, you embark on a journey of discovery and recovery.

how hard it was, how disorienting and destabilizing and crazy making it was, when I realized about 1 1/2 years ago that I no longer believed in liberalism. I walked around in a confused state for weeks. Being a Democrat, a liberal, a far left radical from Berkeley was a big part of my identity. So who the heck was I if I weren't a leftist? And what in the world would I do, given that my husband, all my friends, and all my psychotherapist clients were liberal and I would be public enemy #1 if I told anyone? ...

She started educating herself and

To my disbelief, the more I listened and read, the more these folks made sense.

The rest is here. She and I and many others that were once completely deluded, unhinged loons prove that no one is beyond hope.

NAZIS "ADOPT A HIGHWAY" keep litter free and so get a sign on it.

So the town renames the Highway after a jewish civil rights leader.

BEAUTIFUL! lol. Them racist pigs must be squeelin' like hell!

You can't have turned on the news without seeing the video of the guy crashing his car and gettin' a beat down from the police. What you probably won't see is what I have only seen once: the guy hit a cop with his car, attempting to kill him, before he crashed and got what he had coming. Showing the first part would ruin the story line. Can't have that.

The officers have all been fired and the poor, poor, innocent victim is suing. I would have given them a medal.

The cap and trade bill has made it out of committee and it will have a much easier time passing it since they didn't call it a tax. It's just a plan to help the environment. From Gateway Pundit, it
will likely cost $700 to $1,400 dollars per US family per year.
And talk about micro control of the population,
The Democratic bill contains language – a matter initially denied by its authors – that directs federal authorities to regulate hot tubs.

Well at least it will solve a non-existent problem. Who cares about the economy or personal freedom? You will bend to The State like a good lil' slave!

No really. I'm not kidding!

Right Klik has a nice, link-rich list of 40 reasons.

It's mostly a lot of crazy, far-right extremist stuff like that spouted off by our founding fathers.
You know, potential terrorists. As many were veterans of the war for independence and believed in "rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority," our current homeland security department would be keeping an eye on them.

Ya gotta love the hypocrite-in-chief. Bush was horribly wrong in the way that he kept us all safe for 8 years. Evil policies. Except now that The One has ascended in his chope-y chariot, those same policies are just fine. Of course Bush is still evil.

Charles Krauthammer puts it well:
...the usual Obama three-step: (a) excoriate the Bush policy, (b) ostentatiously unveil cosmetic changes, (c) adopt the Bush policy.
From NRO:
Except for the introduction of euphemisms and a few new ballyhooed but largely meaningless protocols, there is no longer a Bush-did-it argument. The Patriot Act, wiretaps, e-mail intercepts, military tribunals, Predator drone attacks, Iraq, Afghanistan — and now Guantánamo — are officially no longer part of the demonic Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld nexus, but apparently collective legitimate anti-terrorism measures designed to thwart killers, and by agreement, after years of observance, of great utility in keeping us safe the last eight years.

The One: a phony-ass lyin' tool. As the Kool-Aid buzz begins wearing off, more and more people are beginning to see the content of his character instead of the color of his skin. About time people realized how racist they've been behaving.

Thursday, May 21, 2009

Damn. John Hawkins has written a very thought provoking piece. Like him, I am coming to believe that we need to get a LOT of the long time republicans, especially the RINO's, the hell out and put in new conservative legislators that are there because of what they believe in and that actually have something they believe in. He begins:

“The big mistake of Republican leadership is thinking that going through the motions of listening to their ‘base’ is the same thing as actually listening to the base. They keep trying to drag us to where they think we should be instead of joining us where we are.” — Yael

If candidates who believe in small government, fiscal responsibility, a strong military, patriotism, freedom, and traditional values can no longer win elections in the United States, then we’re finished as a great nation.

The rest of it here.

Yup, its them eeeevil greedy republicans that have destroyed our nation! Only Karl Marx...I mean, The Obamunist, can save us!! Kevin Jackson from The Black Sphere, per usual, puts it clearly:

By now you certainly know that Obama will have a scapegoat, and it will be some white Republican man. In the case of the financial industry woes, the scapegoat is "Greed." "Wall Street."

When you hear those terms tossed around so flippantly, you may have a tendency to forget that they are just "words." Nebulous terms meant to conjure up images on of one thing: Rich white Republican men, hell bent on the destruction of the poor. What you won't do however is consider the origin of the fiasco. That's how racist, elitist meddling liberal Democrats want you to think--like "drunk uncles."

I don't blame "Wall Street" for taking advantage of the legislation initiated by fools like Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, legislation then forced on the financial industry by threat of lawsuit by Obama himself (and ACORN). And when the warning bells were sounded by Republicans in the House, they went ignored by Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi…Dodd!

The Democrats would have you forget that in their zeal to "socially engineer" America (particularly black people), they disrupted the free market system—they created this mess. Carter, "the meddlist" decided that in America— everybody should own a house. No Peanut, everybody should have the opportunity to own a house in America.

I think people should have to work hard to get that house. I was raised by people who had this crazy idea: If you work hard for something, you will try harder to keep it. So if you make a $15,000 down payment on a home, you are less likely to walk away. Compare this with the Democrat approach, where you make the down payment of $15,000—with other people's money.

Of course you won't hear any of this in the MSM. The MSM would have the people that created the problem play our saviors while they continue to make it worse. "You lost a finger? I'll help you! Lemmee chop off your arm!"

Got this in an email yesterday:

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her
altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, 'Excuse
me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago,
but I don't know where I am.'

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, 'You're in a hot air
balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet
above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and
100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolled her eyes and said, 'You must be a Republican.'
'I am,' replied the man. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' answered the balloonist, 'everything you told me is technically
correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm
still lost.
Frankly, you've not been much help to me.'

The man smiled and responded, 'You must be a Democrat.'
'I am,' replied the balloonist. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' said the man, 'you don't know where you are or where you're
going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot
air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you
expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you
were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault.'

Joe Klein, a writer for Time Magazine had this to say about Charles Krauthammer:

There’s something tragic about him too,” Klein said, referring to Krauthammer’s confinement to a wheelchair, the result of a diving accident during his first year of medical school. His work would have a lot more nuance if he were able to see the situations he’s writing about. (Politico)

Of course, they're good for racism and sexism too, to be fair. Bigotry and hatred are just fine, as long as they're directed at people with whom you personally disagree.

The ACLU could care less if they bring about the deaths of men and women in the military.

The ACLU, like the most of the left, supports the troops. Mostly when they're dead.
Happy, happy, all the time!

Another study has come out, showing Republicans are happier than Democrats (yes, adjusting for income). Shocker. I know from personal experience, when I was a big 'ol Moonbat, that the constant denial of reality necessary to keep ones hallucination balloon inflated leaves one tired and pissy. Hell, look at Nutsy Pelosi's brittle face. That ain't all from plastic surgery! But why are they even more unhappy now? Tim Slagle at Big Hollywood:
For the past eight years we have been listening to the whining about a stolen election, a war for oil, shredding the Constitution, Halliburton Halliburton Halliburton! You would think that now that they own both Houses of Congress and the White House, they should be happy. The economy is in the tank (as we told them would happen, if they ever got control of the government) but yet they still don’t seem to be happy.

The Tea Parties completely put them over the edge. Apparently we’re not allowed to have protest rallies and we’re not allowed to compare this President to a dictator from a previous era, as was their practice during the last administration. They call us mean and racist and use a sexual profanity too describe our movement. For some reason they seem even less happy, than they were when they were out of power.

Perhaps by forfeiting the last election, we have taken the purpose out of their lives.

I might be rushing to conclusions though. Maybe being a Democrat doesn’t make it more difficult to be a happy person; rather, people are drawn to the Democrat Party because they are unhappy already.
What's more,
They know that if the people are kept miserable that they will overwhelmingly vote Democrat. I believe it’s why they really don’t care what damage their economic policies will have on us all. They don’t care if Cap and Trade will put the economy into a death spiral, or if their universal health care will start a declining life expectancy rate for the first time in American History. Because the more the misery, the better it is for them.

And for the truly miserable, the only balm is the knowledge that other people are just as miserable as you are. So what better way to find friends than to ensure there is an entire nation of miserables alongside you, living next door in the government provided housing, with equal access to a doctor, authorized to assist your suicide?

So Der Messiah, like the petulant child he is, took another shot at Bush today in his Guantanamo speech:

there are those who embrace a view that can be summarized in two words: “anything goes.” Their arguments suggest that the ends of fighting terrorism can be used to justify any means, and that the President should have blanket authority to do whatever he wants - provided that it is a President with whom they agree.

Hot Air: The whole point was to provide guidance to interrogators because not everything goes.

But we can't allow the truth to intrude on His agenda! And talk about "the President should have blanket authority to do whatever he wants - provided that it is a President with whom they agree," and more outrageously, Bush "too often trimmed facts and evidence to fit ideological predispositions," well, I got three words:

Pot. Kettle. Black. (oh hell, now does that make me racist?)

If ever there were a president like that, it would be one that has contempt for the constitution, the majority of the public, and that has the gall to destroy his own country and turn it into a Marxist State.

In other remarks, The Obamunist decreed that
...the U.S. "went off course" in fighting terrorism over the past eight years, and said his policies will "better protect" the country against al Qaeda. (Politico)

He will better protects us by abandoning what protected us for 8 years. He's better than perfect! Go figure.

And that is what they are counting on. Dumb liberals helping them to destroy us. Happy Gumdrop Land has no room for ugliness and everyone in the whole world wants to be in Happy Gumdrop Land! Steve Emerson:
...taking away the term Islamic from the term "Islamic terrorists" does not diminish the willingness to use violence or the religious hatred that radical Muslims hold for Jews and the United States. What the self-sanitization does is to exonerate Muslim leaders from having to confront the monster in their own communities, monsters that in many cases they helped create. Because it is radical Islamist groups—feigning recognition as civil rights organizations, often with the connivance of news organizations and even government agencies—that have deliberately tried to erase the distinction between moderate Islam and radical Islam. Why? So these groups can tar anyone who criticizes militant Islam as a racist or Islamophobe or as someone trying to portray the U.S. at war with the religion itself.

Lets review. Changing words does NOT change reality. Garsh, who woulda thought!?

Cheney's speech was spot on. No wonder his popularity is starting to rise. He's not afraid to tell the truth, polls be damned. People respect people who actually stands for something. Another reason to purge the RINO's from the party.

Republicans totally dropped the ball on this. Admittedly, Bush had a few other things on his mind, such as miraculously keeping us safe from attack for 8 years, but congress should have been on this. The state of health care is a disgrace for a nation like ours and it should have been addressed long ago. But better late than never. Guess it took a socialist government to give them the push. Here's some great ideas.

Glad to see that there are enough Californians sensible enough to vote down a huge tax increase at the ballot. More hope, not chope. But of course, predictably, the left is calling them morons. As Michelle Malkin says,
When initiatives go their way, voters are wise, smart, discerning citizens. When initiatives fail miserably, the electorate is a moronic mob.
Check state assembly woman, Karen Bass, goin' off on the stupid proles:

As this sort of thing gains ground, and more people revolt against the theft of their earnings, what worries me is that the powers that be will keep the funding for post-modern feminist afro-centric gay basket-weaving classes, while cutting police and fire. Seems to always be the way. "You want to stop us from taking your money? You'll have to be PUNISHED," and that is exactly what they do. Seen it with school levies time and time again. They protect who they see as the important people, while those they look down on, athletes, or with cities, police and fire, get the ax. They save the marxist moonbat programs and the slack make-work jobs. Too bad your kid doesn't have books and you've got no one to call when you've been robbed. That's what you GET.

It makes sense to me that Republicans seize on this and pledge to cut where cuts can be afforded while keeping truly essential services. It will take political will and guts, but if we don't have what it takes, who the hell does?

Thank God. People are already starting to sober up from all that Kool-Aid they've been drinking!
The numbers are starting to turn. Add to that that Fox News is skyrocketing in viewership while MSM outlets ( like the NYTimes, CNN, NBC) are sinking faster than a piece of lead, and you got yerself some GENUINE hope!

Looks like this, in the comments at Gay Patriot.

For a bunch of "haters" there sure are a lot of civil, kind, thoughtful conservatives.

Funny, that.

Ha. I bout fell out reading this blurb for a link to an IRS scam alert at Fark:
IRS issues scam alert. Warns taxpayers about schemes to get your money and send it overseas, or to people who didn't earn it, or to pay off other pyramid schemes...hey, wait a minute

Yes, THAT Pravda, the Russian one. Think they just might know a thing or two about it? They don't have their noses up The Obamunist's ass either like what-was-once-the-media over here.

Read it and weep.

...they would do things like these.

Great interview with Charles Winecoff on his waking up.

Takes some guts to think for oneself, admit one's non-adherence to the dictates of the Gay Ayatollahs and other leftist demagogues and brave the inevitable hatred. From the interview at Front Page:

On his past:

...I thought Communists were just nonconformists, people who thought differently from rightwing American Puritans - and who, like gays, were punished for their difference.

I knew nothing of the very real history of famine and mass murder in Communist countries around the world. I had no concept of totalitarianism - why would I? - except for a very narcissistic, mythical idea revolving around an imperialistic America that could not tolerate any thought or lifestyle that threatened its healthy, wealthy, post-War image. Unfortunately, this lack of education about world history - and American history - is still very prevalent today.

Same thing happened to me:

...after 9/11 I really began to view things differently, I started evolving. You could call it growing up. I could no longer just spout the party line that everything was America's fault, and leave it at that. That's a convenient excuse people use to dismiss unpleasant reality and get on with their day. That just didn't cut it for me anymore. Meanwhile, the attitude among most people I knew was increasingly self-hating - terrorism was entirely our fault, Bush's fault, and the jihad was somehow justified. Friends would make gloating jokes when Americans were beheaded, as if to say, "See what an idiot Bush is." But no one seemed to care about the people whose heads were actually sawed off.

On Gay culture:

...I do think the gay community in America is kind of stuck.... It's almost as if the gay community, which is generally affluent, doesn't know how to do anything but play victim....

the gay community rarely gives society at large any credit for how far it has come in accepting us. Some gay activists I know continue to treat their straight friends and acquaintances as if they're a bunch of backward, knuckle-dragging ingrates. It's very patronizing. Personally, I think it's time for the gays to take stock of how much they have gained over the past forty years - which is to say almost all the same rights as heterosexuals - and try a new tack.

An effort needs to be made at this point to make friends with our fellow Americans, stop the us-against-them attitude, and show some mutual respect. Because we all need to work together. Yes, gay couples in The Netherlands may have full marriage rights already - but they also have hostile Islamic immigrants to contend with, who, from what I have read, are starting to destroy what was once considered a gay paradise. So if we are to keep advancing, and living the lives we want, we need allies here at home. I'm tired of the complaining. I want to see gays show a little more generosity towards their fellow Americans. Because they - we - are not the enemy. And this no time for confusion about that. There are imams in mosques all over the place - in Nigeria, in the UK, even in Canada - who regularly call for the death and beheading of homosexuals. But for whatever reason, the gay community here in America seems to take no offense. This is a growing problem that really needs to be addressed, because everyday it gets a little closer.

Damn, this guy is great.

Greg Gutfield puts it in a nutshell:

...the maxim of the typical lefty:

if you think globally, you can screw everyone else locally.

Those grand ideals - evident in greater concern for the world - always disappear when it's closer to home, where it matters most. Anyone who has ever had a lefty roommate knows this: he will protest against greed, but he won`t pony up for the groceries. He will rail against injustice, but he will never clean the bathroom - which is a real injustice.

I can certainly attest to that- as one of those jerks for much of my life. As a matter of fact, in my experience with the left, the louder you scream about caring for the world, the less you care about how you treat the people you interact with yourself everyday. For some reason, it usually just seems to work that way.

Ha. Just kidding. But imitating Europe's socialism is what the left and The Obamessiah want us to "progress" to.

Funny how it always leads to things like this, in the UK:

Children as young as seven are being recruited by councils to act as 'citizen snoopers', the Daily Mail can reveal.

The 'environment volunteers' will report on litter louts, noisy neighbours - and even families putting their rubbish out on the wrong day.

There are currently almost 9,000 people signed up to the schemes. More are likely to be recruited in the coming months. (Daily Mail)

Really lays out what exactly it is we are facing.

Funny thing is, a guy got detained by the police recently for having this slogan on his car.

Those founding fathers! Nothing but right-wing extremists! All of 'em!

(from Pookie's Tunes)

...but this one's mandatory!

It doesnt get any funnier than this!

God this is hilarious!

This is the kind of thing that the hateful gay left should shut up and listen to for one damn minute.
Contrary to their blindly accepted decrees from The Advocate and other Gay Ayatollahs, instead of hate, I have a found a majority on the right that hold beliefs similar to these, from The Bookworm Room:

I believe that marriage is a unique institution that should be limited to one man and one woman per marriage. However, I also believe that consenting adults should be able to do what they want to do (although I deeply oppose the exhibitionist desires so prevalent in the gay community to do it on the streets, at such venues as the Dore Alley Fair or the Folsom Street Fair), and that two loving hearts should be able to join together without shame.

I fully support civil unions, which would grant to gay couples all of the legal rights currently extended to straight couples, and I believe those unions should be recognized from one state to another. Just don’t call it marriage. Keeping that distinction also ensures that such institutions as the Catholic Church won’t be sued for refusing to marry gay couples, something that would be a civil right if gay marriages were legalized, but that would violate fundamental church doctrine.

I don’t want schools to teach that gays or lesbians are bad or should be insulted or avoided. I pretty much want the school to be silent on the topic when it comes to the little kids. Teachers should be militant in ensuring that “gay” is not used as an insult and that feminine boys and masculine girls are not teased or bullied. Respect for all children should be the byword in every school. But I truly do not believe that it is the schools’ responsibility to suggest that homosexuality is just as easy a path as heterosexuality, because it’s not.

All of us have gay and lesbian friends and family members whom we love and respect. If our children turn out to be gay or lesbian, we will love them regardless. But to the extent that the gay and lesbian life is a tough road to hoe, it’s not what we wish for our children and we don’t believe public schools should be pretending that it’s all beer and skittles.

THIS is the kind of thing that is attacked. Sounds more like a compassionate person that simply disagrees with the far gay left to me.

Tell it, Mr. Prelutsky!

I used to be what I thought was a liberal. If, at the time, anyone had asked me to explain myself, I would have said that I opposed Jim Crow laws, that I believed workers were entitled to make a decent wage and work in a safe environment, and that American citizens shouldn’t be discriminated against because of their race, religion or national origin.

I quit being a liberal because I didn’t believe that members of particular minority groups deserved advantages denied to others; that illegal aliens weren’t entitled to anything but a swift kick to the backside; that being a devout Christian didn’t make you a bad person; and that capitalism was a system that worked, while socialism not only didn’t work, but, wherever it was tried, turned into a tyranny.

I honestly don’t know why there are so many liberals today and I certainly can’t imagine why they have such a lousy agenda. I have come up with a theory, however. Here in California, roughly 30 years ago, because of budget cuts, a great many people were released from insane asylums. They wound up living in the streets, which explains the large number of homeless people, even though Democrats would have you believe that those are normal people who simply lost their jobs along the way.

Even after the state became more solvent, it became almost impossible to get these poor souls back into institutions where they could be fed, clothed and given their meds, because the ACLU lawyers fought for their inalienable right to starve, freeze and use the sidewalks of your city as their combination bedroom, living room and bathroom.

Inevitably, they also got to vote....

I have to suspect that a similar scenario took place all over the country. How else to explain that two-thirds of Americans actually believe that Barack Obama’s policies will save our economy? I’m not even a Christian, but I find it bizarre that people who pooh-pooh the idea that Christ raised the dead or walked on water are totally convinced that a guy who’s tossing trillions of dollars into the air is a financial miracle worker. Talk about blind faith! ...

If liberals aren’t simply insane, they surely must be hypocrites. Why else would they insist that spending eight years bashing President Bush and comparing him, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, to the Nazi High Command was patriotic, but merely questioning President Obama’s qualifications, judgment and policies, makes one a racist?

Here's the gratuitous re-post:

It’s always amazing listening to people who believe you must adhere to a set of standards when fighting an enemy who refuses to believe standards exist. Our enemy - who beheads the innocent, flings acid into the faces of children, and flies planes into buildings - must relish this endless opera of handwringing - for they know a worried adversary is a weakened one.

Lets get this straight: implementing enhanced interrogation techniques is not immoral. What’s immoral is not doing everything possible to prevent an enemy from killing the people you love. That one rule overrules everything - making the actions you take toward that enemy supremely moral - whether the acts involve waterboarding, sleep deprivation, playing loud music, or watching David Shuster.

The idea that waterboarding is evil really stems from certain folks feeling awkward when asked about it at Brentwood cocktail parties. And that’s the truly immoral element in this ridiculous debate: if saving face means more than saving lives, then we’re totally screwed. I’d rather live in a country that’s despised for waterboarding two asshats, than a well-liked one with craters for cities. The desire for popularity is really at the heart of this: and it’s a far worse moral crime than anything done with a rag and bucket of water.

He's right. Per usual, the positions on the left generally have more to do with painting them selves as holy enlightened love children that are better and more highly evolved then everyone else, than actually getting their hands dirty and dealing with ALL of the world- good as well as bad. I can't tell you how many times I hear from them that the mere belief in the existence of evil is....well, evil. That is just too much to make room for in their deluded Happy Gumdrop Land.

How safe do you feel with people running the country who deny the entirety of the human world?

From Hot Air:

Also in the Times, Gail Collins weighed in on the already-tired yokelism of the new commander in chief. “What we’re getting is Wasilla chic. That’s what we’re getting. She arrives in the Oval Office, and first thing sends back Blair’s gift of the Churchill bust as if it’s a once-worn Penney’s outfit. Then she gives the Brits some unwatchable DVDs as a booby prize — as if she idled the old Yukon and ran into Target’s sale aisle. Did Sarah send Bristol into Wal-Mart back in Anchorage for that ‘engraved’ iPod for the queen? And what’s this don’t-bow-to-the-queen stuff, but curtsy for a Saudi sheik? Maybe that explains why she brags to Stephanopoulos about her ‘Muslim faith.’ So far, the best things going for her are Todd’s biceps.”…

“Pretty crude, pretty petty,” Sally Quinn sighed in the Washington Post. “No manners at all. Does our new mom in chief think it’s neat to laugh when her court jester at the correspondents’ dinner calls Michael Moore a traitor and a terrorist — and hopes he dies of kidney failure? Is that funny? Ask those on dialysis. Is that what Alaskan hockey moms do — scream out at every talk-show host who hurts their itty-bitty feelings? Limbaugh, Hannity — who will it will be next? Poor old Jim Cramer?”

Kinda puts things in perspective, don't it?

(from Baloo's)

THE number one goal of at least half the country now is avoiding ANY discomfort about anything at all, at all times. NOTHING can wooge yer buzz! Certainly not the thought that terrorists have no regard for human life at all and won't be swayed by a big group hug!

Splains a lot about the left. From an article at the always awesome Dr. Sanity:

...It is one thing to cherish idealistic beliefs, possess a kindly disposition, and maintain an attitude of humanistic tolerance; it is quite another to project those thoughts and feelings onto people who glorify religious murder and suicide, and then delude yourself into believing that by doing so the impulse to commit such evil acts will disappear.

At the heart of the denial that afflicts people like (this) is fear. They are afraid to believe that there are people in the world who embrace evil over good and death over life. Like many people in denial, (they) find it far more comforting to believe that everyone is just like him -- basically well intentioned and occasionally misguided. However, (they are) wrong -- just as wrong as wrong can be -- and the whole of human history stands as witness to (this) error. (American Thinker)...
They are like posturing peacocks who strut around acting like they are little gods and goddesses, oblivious to the fact that others perceive them as fools and clowns (Pelosi and Reid come to mind). As for the peacock-in-chief, the broader public have not yet caught onto his tenuous relationship with truth and reality because they are besotted with his rhetoric and they want to believe in his godliness so very much in these troubled times.
