Glad to see that there are enough Californians sensible enough to vote down a huge tax increase at the ballot. More hope, not chope. But of course, predictably, the left is calling them morons. As Michelle Malkin says,
When initiatives go their way, voters are wise, smart, discerning citizens. When initiatives fail miserably, the electorate is a moronic mob.Check state assembly woman, Karen Bass, goin' off on the stupid proles:
As this sort of thing gains ground, and more people revolt against the theft of their earnings, what worries me is that the powers that be will keep the funding for post-modern feminist afro-centric gay basket-weaving classes, while cutting police and fire. Seems to always be the way. "You want to stop us from taking your money? You'll have to be PUNISHED," and that is exactly what they do. Seen it with school levies time and time again. They protect who they see as the important people, while those they look down on, athletes, or with cities, police and fire, get the ax. They save the marxist moonbat programs and the slack make-work jobs. Too bad your kid doesn't have books and you've got no one to call when you've been robbed. That's what you GET.
It makes sense to me that Republicans seize on this and pledge to cut where cuts can be afforded while keeping truly essential services. It will take political will and guts, but if we don't have what it takes, who the hell does?
