The southern rock band Blackberry Smoke kicks. ass. Love em'.

And then to find this drunken, slapped together vid with their song "I'd Be Lyin" containing this Obama sound bite....well...

they just went way up on my awesomeness meter.

Really, it's the only thing you need to hear Our Glorious Leader say to understand him. It's his essence

Some of the lyrics in the background, that go with those sparkly words of The One:

Everybody's gonna tell you what to do
You can believe what you wanna believe
But let me tell you what's the truth

Baby, I'd, I'd be lying
Like all those two-faced, backstabbing double-talkers trying to get to you

BTW: I do not in anyway advocate the use of pot. Bad idea. M'kay?

But if you're gonna rule out listening to any band that used or uses drugs its gonna be awful quiet around your place. Hell, you'd have to rule out Hank Sr. and he's the king! So chill and enjoy the vid.

WooooHooooo! Acorn, not content with its role in causing the housing crisis that started the ball rolling downward, is ramping it up, even while they suck down more of your stolen money (via the Stimulus):

ACORN will be harassing lenders across the nation today, in an attempt to bully them into supporting The Leader's foreclosure-avoidance program — just as they bullied lenders into making loans based on race instead of ability to repay, thus helping to cause the subprime mortgage crisis that brought down the economy.

The campaign is entitled Home Wrecker 4. In the crosshairs are Goldman Sachs, HomEq Servicing, American Home Mortgage, and OneWest.

As American Spectator reminds us,

[L]et's not forget that ACORN helped to cause the mortgage bubble by strongarming banks into making loans they shouldn't have. And cheering them on was ACORN's lawyer, Barack Obama, who contributed to the increasingly hostile environment for banks when he represented plaintiffs in the 1995 class action lawsuit Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank. The suit demanded that Citibank grant mortgages to an equal percentage of minority and non-minority mortgage applicants. The bank settled the case three years later and reportedly agreed to beef up its lending to unqualified applicants.
Oh wait. My bad. It was all Bush's fault. Haven't had my Kool-Aid today.

Please don't send me to a death camp.

BTW, ACORN will be taking your census info the next time round, just to be sure the figures match what Our Glorious Leader desires.

And training a new class of revolutionaries on your tax dollar. Brownshirts are back!

"But I love the sound of his voice! He's so reassuring!"

(via Moonbattery)

Oh c'mon! That's funny right there!

Ok, ok, I'm a....uh.....a "self-loathing homosexual."

Feel better now?

(still think its funny.)

Maybe the women that created the post-modern feminist world of scholarship are really just as fashion-conscious as more traditional mainstream women are. And the fashion is, that truth irrelevant.

The title of the posting is "Persistent Myths in Feminst Scholarship," but after reading it, I'm thinking it should be called, "The Persistent Myth OF Feminist Scholarship."

My GOD what a crock!

Per usual, its all about feeeeeeelings, not rational discourse:
One reason that feminist scholarship contains hard-to-kill falsehoods is that reasonable, evidence-backed criticism is regarded as a personal attack.

These women are an insult to every strong, intelligent woman alive, and what's worse, they claim to speak for them.

Well........ they claim to speak for the horribly oppressed women in Western societies.

Muslim women, on the other hand, they are strangely silent about. Can't criticize another culture now, even if it kills, rapes and mutilates women as a matter of LAW and besides, in this case they might be in danger from Islamic nut-jobs if they don't act like subservient bitches and keep their place. Better to "bravely" speak truth to power about the awful sexist oppression in our society. Even if a large part of that oppression is phony bullshit.

Democratic legislators refusing to stand for the pledge of allegiance:

(story at Hot Air)

Are you keeping track of this trend? The DHS has twice identified those who disent from Der Messiah's politics as "potential terrorists" and the Defense Dept. has done it once. Dem talking heads, picking us the clue and smelling blood are increasingly echoing the same thing. Now the Dem leader of CA:

California’s Speaker of the Assembly, Karen Bass, was foolish enough to say it — and believe it. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Bass responded to a question about conservative talk radio by calling show hosts terrorists, and openly wondering why we allow people to call politicians and give their opinions (via The Corner):

How do you think conservative talk radio has affected the Legislature’s work?

The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: “You vote for revenue and your career is over.” I don’t know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it’s about free speech, but it’s extremely unfair. (Hot Air)

Now think about that. Having a different opinion from those on the far left (the new mainstream), makes you equal to those who commit mass murder, chop off heads, hang gay people and stone women to death if they were evil enough to "allow" themselves to be raped.

Not being left wing makes you equal to the scum that killed all those people on 9-11

How far a distance is there between identifying a group of people with whom you politically disagree as terrorists and DOING something to them equally extreme as the threatening group that you have just labeled them as? Re-education camp anyone? Obama's ally, William Ayers, lead a group, the Weather Underground, that said that this would be necessary for all but about 25,000 or so of us, when they came to power. Those 25,000 would have to be killed. THIS is the political environment we are living in now. These are the kind of people that are in control.

But I'm just being alarmist.

Can't happen here.

Now what's going on with Michael Jackson?

From Say Anything:
Congress has already decided what kind of light bulbs we can use, and Obama has expressed a desire to regulate where Americans set their thermostats (even as he cranks his personal thermostat in the Oval Office). So why not regulate our lamps too?

It’s not like this is a free country or anything.

WASHINGTON—Aiming to keep the focus on climate change legislation, President Barack Obama put a plug in for administration efforts to make lamps and lighting equipment use less energy.

Incandescent bulbs are being phased out and made illegal- you will have to buy mercury-filled bulbs coming with looooong clean-up directions for their toxic waste, if broken, that give off ugly-ass light. Sorta like an operating room. Now we are going to be told what kind of lamps we can use.

Well I'll tell ya what I'll be using. Friggin' CANDLES. How do you like those carbon footprints, bitches? Nicer light, not toxic and cheap.

Hmmmm.... come to think of it, mayber Der Messiah did me a favor!

Sen. James Inhofe has a more conciliatory posting on the cap and tax bill than I would put out. But then I'm not a politician. He's concerned:

The logic is not difficult to understand. Carbon caps, according to reams of independent analyses, will severely damage America’s global economic competitiveness, principally by raising the cost of doing business here relative to other countries that have no mandatory carbon policies. So jobs and businesses will move overseas, most likely to China. This so-called “leakage effect” would tip the global economic balance in favor of China and other strategic competitors of the U.S. Clearly, unilateral U.S. action redounds to the benefit of China and to the great detriment of the U.S.

"Well, what's not to like," says Chairman Zero, our "education" system and the MSM!?
We are, after all, an evil imperialist nation that needs to bow down and learn its place! The World Apology Tour was hardly enough!

And the best part of the cap and tax?
It picks winners and losers that will leave places like the Midwest and the South paying higher energy prices to subsidize areas in the rest of the country.
Take that, ya damn rednecks!

Quite unlike all those Bible and gun clinging hillbillies in the Midwest and the South, China is not stupid:
...China opposes any binding emission reduction targets on itself; China wants the U.S. to accept draconian emission reduction targets that will continue to cripple the U.S. economy; and on top of that, China wants the U.S. to subsidize its economy with billions of dollars in foreign aid. In the final analysis, one must give China credit for seeking its economic self-interest.

Damn Chinese Capitalists! How dare they stand in the way of the One World Government Socialist Revolution of the Anointed One!

China- capitalist. America-socialist.
Europe- capitalist. America- socialist. (re: the recent elections)

Garsh, the world sure is changin' huh? If we want, as The One has said, to be in be in step with and in the good opinion of the world, as our first priority, we better git us some change!

My God, Kevin Jackson rocks. Just check the beginning of this posting:

Reminiscent of the days when the slaves escaped the plantation, and Massa rounded up area plantation owners and law enforcement to get his property back, we are witness to a repeat of history. Democrat slave owners, ACORN are intent on capturing former ACORN member turned whistleblower, Anita MonCrief (slave). They will do so by suing her.

I’m just going to call it like it is. ACORN suing Anita MonCrief is “the real man keeping a sista down. “ If ACORN were a Republican organization, this story would get more press coverage than MLK’s funeral. However, since there is no Republican boogeyman, ignorant blacks will be silent. Don’t expect white Democrats—normally meddlers par excellent—to meddle here either. The poverty pimps, Jackson and Sharpton—redundant, since I already mentioned ignorant blacks—will be silent as well.

No gloves covering those brass knuckles. So very, very refreshing.

The Obamunist found it when he was flying around on his unicorn, spreading rainbows full of chope and magical fairy dust on the whos of whoville:
The world believes that the US is borrowing money from capital markets. It is often said that the Chinese and the Japanese will buy government bonds. But the truth of the matter is that trust in the gravitas and reliability of the United States has suffered to such a great degree that fewer and fewer foreigners are purchasing its government bonds. That's why the Federal Reserve is now buying securities that it has printed itself. The Fed's balance sheet has more than doubled since 2007, making the US central bank one of the world's fastest-growing companies. The purpose of this company, though, is to create money out of thin air. (Der Spiegel)
Wal, I may be a dumb hick, but I wonder what could possibly go wrong with that there "money from thin air" thing.

The funny thing is that those wacky Germans still bashed Bush in the the article, but then went on to Chairman Zero with a big 'ol WTF.

Strange that Europe is becoming more capitalist while we are running as fast as we can to socialism.

Its a HUGE new tax, that doesn't call itself a tax. This is in keeping with other official newspeak, like "man-caused disaster" instead of terrorism.

Despite the groundswell of scientists now de-bunking it, the left continues, amazingly enough, to say there is no more debate.

Because if there were, they would no longer have such a convenient excuse to increase social control so drastically and steal such a vast amount of your money.

Confederate Yankee has some perspective:

Here are some hard truths for the President.

The earth has been far, far hotter than it currently is. We had nothing to do with that one way or the other, and the Earth did just fine in moderating itself without bloviating bipeds passing empty resolutions.

The earth has also been far, far cooler than it currently is. We had nothing to do with that one way or the other, and the Earth did just fine in moderating itself without shivering, bloviating bipeds passing prevaricating laws as if they were of significance. ...

For starters, I'd like for him to explain when the last time was the planet wasn't changing. When he finishes, perhaps he can also explain why—for the very first time—the constant change is suddenly bad.

I suspect we know the answer. Obama is about changing others, finding ways to control and alter their lives. ....
When you escape the enforced mass hallucination that their hype has created, and look at it this way, things could not be more clear. Its simple.

And yet.....the mantra drones on and the power-hungry socialist totalitarians continue to salivate....

Rabbi Jonathan Sacks has an incredible piece on The Times Online. From the article:

I believe we have lost our traditional sense of morality. I do not mean that we are less moral than our grandparents. We care about things they hardly thought about: world poverty, inequality, global warming and the loss of biodiversity. We are more tolerant than they were.

But note this: the things we care about are vast, distant, global, remote. They are problems that require the co-ordinated action of millions, perhaps billions of people. The difference we as individuals can make to any one of them is minimal. That does not mean they are not important: they are. But they are issues of politics, not of morality in the conventional sense.

When it comes to personal behaviour we have now come to believe that there is no right and wrong. Instead, there are choices. The market facilitates those choices. The State handles the consequences, picking up the pieces when they go wrong.

The idea that there may be things we would like to do and can afford to do but which we should not do, because they are dishonourable and a betrayal of trust, has come to seem outmoded.

In the case of MPs and financial institutions whole groups of people were, in effect, saying: “It’s legal, therefore it’s moral. Besides which, everyone else is doing it, so why shouldn’t I?” This was not a failure of individuals but of an entire culture, whose air we all breathe, and for which all of us share responsibility.

Concepts like duty, obligation, responsibility and honour have come to seem antiquated and irrelevant. Emotions like guilt, shame, contrition and remorse have been deleted from our vocabulary, for are we not all entitled to self-esteem? The still, small voice of conscience is rarely heard these days. Conscience has been outsourced, delegated away.

So, in place of an inner code, we have regulatory authorities. Where once people believed that God sees all we do, now we have CCTV and video surveillance. When self-imposed restraint disappears, external constraint must take its place. The result is that we have created the most regulated, intrusive society ever known.

And still it fails, and will always fail, because without a sense of responsibility to others, people will always find ways of outwitting the most sophisticated systems.

Two extraordinarily farsighted thinkers foresaw all this in the 1950s. The first was the American sociologist David Riesman, who argued that we were moving from an inner-directed society to an other-directed one.

An inner-directed society is one where people have an internalised sense of right and wrong. An other-directed society is one in which people take their cues from what other people do. Only in the latter can you have a situation in which people say: “If everyone else is doing it, it can’t be wrong.”

The second was the English philosopher Elizabeth Anscombe, who argued that morality had become incoherent because we had lost the foundation on which it was built. Words like obligation and ought belonged to a culture in which people believed that there was such a thing as a divine law: the belief shared by Jews, the Greek Stoics and Christians. Lose this and the words themselves lose their meaning. It is, she said, as if the word criminal remained when the criminal law had been abolished and forgotten.

If this is true, we face a much larger crisis than we think. Parliamentary reform and financial re-regulation will treat the symptoms not the cause. Without conscience there can be no trust. Without a shared moral code there can be no free society. Either we recover the moral sense or we will find, too late, that in the name of liberty, we have lost our freedom.

This sure explains a lot, doncha think? Like why we are moving so rapidly towards becoming a Totalitarian Socialist State.

Chairman Zero rightly condemned the Holocaust museum gunman as the media inaccurately identified him as a conservative. Good chance to lie about this hateful man's politics and further demonize your enemies there, Jugears! But hate coming from muslims and Americans of African descent?

Eric Eversole at Pajamas Media:
Take, for example, the president’s recent failure to denounce the anti-Semitic rant by his long-term spiritual advisor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright. On the day before the shooting, a reporter in Hampton Roads, Virginia, recorded Reverend Wright making numerous anti-Semitic comments, including attacks on the president’s closest advisors, Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod. Reverend Wright blamed “them Jews” for not letting President Obama speak with him. He further asserted that President Obama had compromised his beliefs and the “fiber of his being” for the “Jewish vote” and Jewish lobbying groups....

Yet, when the White House was asked to comment on Reverend Wright’s remarks — on the same day President Obama asked for vigilance — the president gave no comment or denunciation. ...

President Obama also was silent three weeks ago when authorities uncovered a plot by four jailhouse Muslim converts to blow up a synagogue in New York City. According to authorities, the four men attempted to acquire plastic explosives and a stinger missile for the sole purpose of killing Jews. There is no doubt that the hate motivating these four Muslim converts is no different or less dangerous than the hate of a neo-Nazi. However, unlike the Holocaust Museum killing, neither the president nor his administration called for vigilance against Islamic extremism.

Why not? ...

And what about the free pass that the Obama administration gave to the New Black Panther Party three weeks ago? ...

As part of a nationwide effort, the New Black Panther Party sent two members to a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day. The two members were videotaped in front of a polling place wearing paramilitary clothing, black berets, combat boots, and at least one carried a nightstick in his hand. Both of them made racially derogatory comments, threats, and gestures to would-be voters and poll workers.

As a result of the conduct, the Voting Section of the Department of Justice filed a voter intimidation lawsuit to permanently enjoin the New Black Panther Party, as well as three members, from future acts of intimidation. The case was a slam dunk. Not only had the conduct been videotaped, the New Black Panther Party and its members refused to answer the complaint — that is, by legal standards, they were in default and were deemed to have admitted everything in the complaint. As well known civil rights attorney Bull Bartle noted, “It would qualify as the most blatant form of voter intimidation I have encountered in my life in political campaigns in many states, even going back to the work I did in Mississippi in the 1960s.”

The president’s political appointees at the Department of Justice dismissed the case against the New Black Panther Party.

See any pattern here?

According the the mainstream left, some racism and bigotry is just fine. Some is not. Depends on whether or not you're on their list.

"Help me! The evil Republicans are destroying my home!"

It became and iconic image of the non-existant global warming crisis. Polar bears were going to go extict because the ice is melting! Help save the poor baby polar bears! Just one problem:
Polar bear numbers in Canada have increased in 11 of 13 regions in recent years. (Gateway Pundit)

Darn. Well....we still need to be completely controlled and anyhow, the time for debate is over, as our betters have told us time and time again.

Two worshipers squabble over who loves Obama more:

Nothing if they are flailing around willy nilly destroying The Constitution and eliminating national security, as Chairman Zero is.

But then, we are Citizens of the World now, not The United States. Remember that.

And the traitors? According to NYTimes columnist Paul Krugman, it is those who voted against the cap and trade bill that is intended to solve the non-existant global warming crisis:
I was watching a form of treason — treason against the planet.

And now this, from famous loon Henry Waxman:
"They [Republicans] want to play politics and see if they can keep any achievements from being accomplished that may be beneficial to the Democrats. They're rooting against the country and I think in this case, even rooting against the world because the world needs to get its act together to stop global warming."

Yup. I hate the world. That's why I don't want our economy totally destroyed for the sake of a non-existent problem. It's 'cause I hate the damn world.

Blogging is really getting under the left's oh-so-thin skin. The very thought of free access to diverse viewpoints sends them into a tizzy. Enter Judge Richard Posner
a United States Court of Appeals judge in Chicago and legal scholar who was once considered a potential Supreme Court nominee.

He has the solution. Outlaw blogging:

Expanding copyright law to bar online access to copyrighted materials without the copyright holder’s consent, or to bar linking to or paraphrasing copyrighted materials without the copyright holder’s consent . . .

Let me repeat that. He wants to “bar linking” to newspaper articles or any copyrighted material without the “copyright holder’s consent.” I am sorry Judge Posner, but I don’t need to ask your permission to link to your blog post or to a newspaper article online. That is just the way the Web works. If newspapers don’t like it, they don’t need to be on the Web. (Atlas Shrugs)

He still may make it to the Supreme Court and help to change that "fundementally flawed" document, The Constitution.

You can't make this stuff up! Completely insane:

Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) has blocked President Obama’s candidate for regulation czar, Harvard law professor Cass Sunstein, because Sunstein has argued that animals should have the right to sue humans in court.

Obama has picked Sunstein, his adviser and longtime friend, to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, an office that has power to review and assess all draft regulations proposed within the administration. (The Hill)

"Advisor and long time friend." Well go figure. The denizens of Happy Gumdropland sure stick together!
Bitter much?

But not so awesome is that Sotomayor, who is up for the court, origionally ruled that racism is just fine- as long as its directed against white people.

During the show's regular "Worst Person in the World" segment, Olbermann referred to voters as "idiots" and "buffoons" who voted into office two Republican legislators – Congressman Randy Neugebauer of Texas and State Representative Cynthia Davis of Missouri, whom he also called an "inhuman monster" for expressing her views in opposition to government welfare. (Newsbusters)

Shocker. Everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others:

Dr. Orrin Devinsky, a neurologist and researcher at the New York University Langone Medical Center, said that elites often propose health care solutions that limit options for the general public, secure in the knowledge that if they or their loves ones get sick, they will be able to afford the best care available, even if it's not provided by insurance.

Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn't seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he's proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get.

The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if "it's my family member, if it's my wife, if it's my children, if it's my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care."

At the transcript or video, note how Obama "cleverly" chose to answer the question for the most part from an end-of-life care angle instead of from a more generalized viewpoint. (Newsbusters)

EVERY socialist leader has done this. The caaaare about you, but they still deserve more and better than you. Here's what we can look forward too. Kinda like going to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles.

...if you're a conservative. That's the hope and change- the regime is increasingly labeling opposition to Chairman Zero's policies as a criminal act. Looks like The One's minions are picking up on the DHS memos calling state's rights advocates, veterans and anti-abortion foes as potential terrorists and the Defense Department's labeling protesters "low level terrorists."

From Newsbusters:

Conservative talk radio hosts are terrorists. So said the Speaker of California's Assembly in an interview published at the Los Angeles Times Saturday

Smells like Germany in the 30's!

A guy goes out to ultra-liberal Bryant Park in NY and reads stuff from Glenn Beck's new book, not telling them where its from.
He asks them if they agree with each statement. They all do.
Then he tells them they just agreed with Beck and they FLIP out.

Do you remember the "Jena 6" that all the race hustlers were crowding around, whinning that it was unfair to be so mean to 6 black guys who, unprovoked, beat the living hell out of a white guy?

Because he was white.

That's not racism, and not even really that big a deal, hence that sentence:

The five, standing quietly surrounded by their lawyers, were sentenced to seven days unsupervised probation and fined $500

As part of the deal, one of the attorneys read a statement from the five defendants — all of whom are black — in which they said they knew of nothing Barker had done to provoke the attack.

"To be clear, not one of us heard Justin use any slur or say anything that justified Mychal Bell attacking Justin nor did any of us see Justin do anything that would cause Mychal to react," (AP)

You could get more severe treatment for smoking a damn joint, but as we know, racism is cool now- as long as its directed toward a race on the approved list.

King must be rolling over in his grave.

Found this at Teh Resistance.

The origional saying, still used by Conservatives:

“I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”.

The new saying, beginning to be enforced (now that we have hope and change):

“I may disagree with what you say, and if I do I’ll have a hissy-fit, then I’ll denigrate, skewer, and sue you and your family. I’ll find a way to make your decision look bigoted, biased, or racist, and afterwards, I’ll use my brilliant attack to pad my resume and run for office”.

Found this exerpt from Jonah Goldberg's classic, "Liberal Fascism," at The Virginian today:
Like the engineers of that proverbial railway bridge, the Nazis
worked relentlessly to replace the nuts and bolts of traditional
Christianity with a new political religion. The shrewdest way to accomplish
this was to co-opt Christianity via the Gleichschaltung
while at the same time shrinking traditional religion’s role in civil society.
To this end, Hitler was downright Bismarckian. The German
historian Götz Aly explains how Hitler purchased popularity with
lavish social welfare programs and middle-class perks, often paid for
with stolen Jewish wealth and high taxes on the rich. Hitler banned
religious charity...

Under the progressives, the Christian God had been transformed
into the God of lower food prices. Under the Nazis, the Christian
God would be transformed into an Aryan SS officer with Hitler his
right hand. The so-called German Christian pastors preached that
“just as Jesus liberated mankind from sin and hell, so Hitler saves the
German Volk from decay.” ...

In 1935 mandatory prayer in school was abolished, and in 1938
carols and Nativity plays were banned entirely. By 1941 religious instruction
for children fourteen years and up had been abolished altogether,
and Jacobinism reigned supreme. A Hitler Youth song rang
out from the campfires:

We are the happy Hitler Youth;
We have no need for Christian virtue;
For Adolf Hitler is our intercessor
And our redeemer.
No priest, no evil one
Can keep us
From feeling like Hitler’s children.
No Christ do we follow, but Horst Wessel!
Away with incense and holy water pots.9
Meanwhile, the orphans were given new lyrics to “Silent Night”:
Silent night! Holy night! All is calm, all is bright,
Only the Chancellor steadfast in fight,
Watches o’er Germany

Any of this sound familiar? I can tell you that if it does, it wouldn't be a memory from a past life.

The party of racism and slavery never changed. They merely switched tactics. I've posted on this before. Kevin Jackson has just put up one of his usual, excellent pieces, this time on the same subject:

As if America needed any more proof that Democrats still think of black as slaves, all one needs to do is think ACORN. ACORN, the organization that most people associate with “community organizing”, and more fittingly Democrat voter fraud perpetrated by blacks is headed by a gang of white racist Democrats whose only agenda is…their own capitalist agenda.

If you don’t believe me, then visit an ACORN facility. They are located in any large city with a heavy black population. The building will be prominently placed in a mostly black community. When you see ACORN minions protesting, getting petitions signed, or doing whatever destructive deeds ACORN wishes to perpetrate on the black community, you can bet that it will be mostly black people doing the bidding. Democrat slavery is alive and well, as it is a white slave Massa who is the overseer at ACORN.

From its humble beginnings in the 1970, the little ACORN has indeed become a mighty oak. For its efforts in the Obama campaign, ACORN was rewarded with $5.2B of new funding in what is being called “neighborhood stabilization.” This is a euphemism for “keeping black people ignorant and voting democrat” program. Though ACORN touts itself as the largest “grass roots” community group in the country, there is nothing grass roots about it. It is a heavily funded Democrat organization with one goal in mind. Keep Democrats thriving off so-called black victims.

Ask me if I think blacks will learn anything from this new enslavement, and my simple answer is, “Of course not!” Ignorance is bliss, and blacks are the most content race in America–have been for decades.

So as the saying goes, ACORN gets the mine, while blacks get the shaft.

Check him out!

I've heard people say he's turning our nation into something more akin to Zimbabwe, but never read analysis by someone who knows that continent intimately. L. E. Ikenga:

My friends, despite what CNN and the rest are telling you, Barack Obama is nothing more than an old school African Colonial who is on his way to turning this country into one of the developing nations that you learn about on the National Geographic Channel. Many conservative (East, West, South, North) African-Americans like myself -- those of us who know our history -- have seen this movie before. Here are two main reasons why many Americans allowed Obama to slip through the cracks despite all of his glaring inconsistencies:

First, Obama has been living on American soil for most of his adult life. Therefore, he has been able to masquerade as one who understands and believes in American democratic ideals. But he does not. Barack Obama is intrinsically undemocratic and as his presidency plays out, this will become more obvious. Second, and most importantly, too many Americans know very little about Africa. The one-size-fits-all understanding that many Americans (both black and white) continue to have of Africa might end up bringing dire consequences for this country.

Get these phony Republicans the hell out of office. They, and those like them, are the reason we have been trounced the last couple times. If they want to be Democrats, they should be Democrats and we embrace these lyin'-ass phonies to our detriment.
(Obama's ally, Bill Ayers, demonstrating their brand of patriotism)

More info on the couple convicted spying for Cuba. First off they said they didn't do it for the money. They did if for the principle of the thing. So what kind of "principles" did this couple hold?
From the WSJ:

...the alleged spooks are walking clichés, their every political and social attitude reflecting the mix of self-righteousness and naïveté that is the basis of post-1960s liberalism. Hugely privileged -- the great-grandson of Alexander Graham Bell, Mr. Myers went to prep school and sailed a 38-foot sloop -- the couple idealized the poor. Seamlessly, they moved from antiwar activism to pro-abortion activism and then, in the fullness of time, along with everyone else, to environmentalism. He was an academic -- enough said. She got into politics, like so many others, via the McGovern campaign. They grew pot in their basement. And, yes, they spied on behalf of Castro's murderous regime not for the money but on principle. They'd been searching for a sense of meaning. But here's the thing: What makes them clichés is that there are so many others like them. In left-of-center precincts across America, from the Upper West Side to the studio lot where Sean Penn is filming his latest movie, and including countless college campuses in between, Fidel Castro is even now regarded with understanding and, yes, something like affection.

Just your regular, (organic) garden-variety liberals. Oops! I'm sorry. I meant to say patriotic liberals.

The was no other news the last two days. Every time I turned on Fox there was nothing but reporting on the "tragic" death of Michael Jackson. Joy Tiz:

The same Michael Jackson who once told a reporter it was “sweet” and “charming” to sleep with little boys and ply them with “Jesus Juice” (known to lucid people as “wine”) has been deified. Jackson, who dangled one of his babies off of a hotel balcony also obtained those children via a bizarre and labyrinthine arrangement, named one of them Blanket and made them wear burkas.
And how bout this:
Congress held a moment of silence to mark his death.

How 'bout a moment of silence for some brave, self-less men and women who died keeping you safe:

These American military members died in Iraq this month:

Sergeant Justin J. Duffy
Specialist Christopher M. Kurth
Specialist Charles D. Parrish
Lance Corporal Robert D. Ulmer
Staff Sergeant Edmond L. Lo
Sergeant Joshua W. Soto
Captain Kafele H. Sims
Specialist Chancellor A. Keesling

Hilareous. Responding to Kerry's wish, in the typically classy liberal way, that she be missing or dead:

Sarah Palin: Godess.

Detaining terrorists indefinately. Der Messiah is on board with that.

...with a bill no one read. For someone that is all for debate, dialogue and bi-partisanship (yeah, it's killin me too!), Chairman Zero sure is good at forcing things through in a way that would make Mussolini proud. And on Friday night, while no one is watching. After killing disent:

The free market-based Competitive Enterprise Institute in Washington (where I served as a journalism fellow in 1995) obtained a set of internal e-mails exposing Team Obama’s willful and reckless disregard for data that undermine the illusion of “consensus.” In March, Alan Carlin, a senior research analyst at the Environmental Protection Agency, asked agency officials to distribute his analysis on the health effects of greenhouse gases....

On March 12, Carlin’s director, Al McGartland, forbade him from having “any direct communication” with anyone outside his office about his study. “There should be no meetings, emails, written statements, phone calls, etc.” ...

“The time for such discussion of fundamental issues has passed for this round. The administrator and the administration has decided to move forward on endangerment, and your comments do not help the legal or policy case for this decision… (Michelle Malkin)

Can't have actual science interfering with our Glorious Leader's agenda, now!

The cost estimates per household range from around 700 to 1400 more a year on your heating bills, with more estimates outside of the Department of Propaganda leaning toward the higher end- exactly what we need with un-employment continuing to nose-dive. And that isn't the half of it. All the costs to business will be passed on.
In fact, as The One has decreed in an interview with The San Francisco Chronicle:

"Under my plan of a cap and trade system electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Businesses would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that cost onto consumers."

Check out his contradictory statesments here.

And here he is saying he plans on bankrupting the coal industry:

In fact, it is the the largest tax increase in American history. There' a good run-down of its disasterous effects on what's left of our economy at Michelle Malkin.

All for a problem that a now majority of scientists say doesn't exist (Gateway Pundit has a myriad links here). The concern is in fact turning towards global cooling. But it never was about the climate. It's about taking more of your money and increasing government control over every aspect of our lives. Gosh, it sure was nice when we lived in America. At least one Representative has the guts to point out the truth:

Here's list of the traitorous republicans that allowed this bill to pass:

Mary Bono Mack R (CA)
Mike Castle R (DW)
Mark Steven Eirk R (IL)
Leonard Lance R (NJ)
Frank LoBiondo R (NJ)
John McHugh R (NY)
Dave Reichert R (WA)
Chris Smith R (NJ)

(they're links, incase you wanna let them know what you think)

Vodka Pundit says it all: “Never have so few stolen so much from so many to achieve so little.”

Having values and sometimes failing to live up to them means you're a hypocrite. At least, unless you jettison those values. Having none, you can never be called a hypocrite again! Welcome to the left. When they use the word "freedom," what they mean is freedom from believing in anything but themselves. Values are for suckers!

Bret Prelutsky:

Consider the uproar from the left when Don Imus opened his silly yap about the black women on the Rutgers basketball team. Now compare that to their response when David Letterman made his smarmy cracks about Sarah Palin and the governor’s 14-year-old daughter. The liberals immediately sprang to his defense, pointing out that Letterman is nothing more than a TV personality and is therefore free to make offensive jokes without fear of censure. So what do they think Don Imus is? The Secretary of State?

He's goes on with a world-class smack down and concludes with the deepest, world-class nuttiness:

I have to wonder, though, how much non-Muslim nations trust our current president. It’s one thing, after all, to travel to other countries and talk a lot of diplomatic flapdoodle, but when Barack Obama takes every opportunity to tell the world how awful we are -- or at least how awful we were until he got elected -- it has to make people wonder if, like his missus, he had never been proud of America prior to his canonization by the media.

It doesn’t make things a lot better when he makes obviously foolish remarks, such as insisting that the U.S. is one of the largest Muslim nations, and that Muslims played a major role in the creation of our republic.

That one really had me reeling, so I went back to my trusty old history book and looked it up and, sure enough, he was correct. Right there in black and white, I discovered that among the most influential of the Founding Fathers were Abdullah Washington, Mahmoud Adams and Osama bin Jefferson.

Up is down, black is white, good is bad and the sky is chartreuse with purple polka-dots.

(from Pajamas Media):

Advice for American conservatives? Only this. The Republican Party’s success depended on its becoming a popular party — that is, a party that was for the people against the governing elites. Half a century ago, it was a party of big business and old money, and it kept losing: it was in permanent opposition in both houses, and tended to win the presidency only when it fielded a non-partisan Ike-type candidate. Then it changed: it embraced localism, small government and states’ rights. It went from being a New England, preppy, country club party to being a Sun Belt, anti-Washington mass movement. And you know what? It started winning.

My worry is that, in recent years, the party has gone into reverse. It has become, as in pre-Goldwater days, the party of federal spending, budget deficits, external protectionism (the steel tariffs), overseas garrisons, the denial of states’ rights (the gay marriage amendment) and, latterly, bailouts and nationalizations.

I speak as someone who has a more uncomplicated loyalty to the GOP than to my own party, and I desperately want it to start winning again. But that means getting back to basics: to the basic idea that informed the U.S. Constitution, namely that decisions should be taken as closely as possible to the people they affect.

I whole-heartedly agree. The kind of conservative I feel is the kind you can find in country music. To me, that is the "spiritual" core, if you will, of the brand that I believe in. "Localism, small government and state's rights" is where its at, indeed. This brand is personified by Sarah Palin. The libs hate her and the big government, snobby "republicans" hate her, but oddly....the people love her. There's a reason for that.

And it's interesting that it appears that this brand is precisely what the left fears.

Explains why the Dept. of Homeland Security has labeled those who believe in state's rights "potential terrorists."

Muslims complained to the State of Maine about being offended by a group exercising...(shudder!)....free speech rights!!!

As we all know, we just can't have that!

...what has Maine bureaucrats roiling is a fundraising mailing sent by CAN (a copy of which was provided to Pajamas Media) regarding a public school curriculum used in California requiring students to pray to Allah, dress up as Muslims, adopt Muslim names, and learn the five pillars of Islam. Since Christians and Jews are not given similar accommodations, CAN encouraged their supporters to send a petition to Maine Gov. John Baldacci asking him to prevent such instruction in Maine public schools.

Among the stated allegations in Thibodeau’s letter and the consent agreement is that this amounted to hate speech, claiming:

5. The correspondence contained an inflammatory anti-Muslim message.

$4000 fine. (story at Pajamas Media)

Sharia law will eventually be in force here, just as it is in much of Eurabia. They know well that the best way to boil a frog is to turn up the heat slowly, and they are confident of their victory over the moronic, post-modern, multi-cultural infidels.

Maybe his propaganda needs to be a little more subtle for people to keep eating it:

The one-hour ABC News special "Primetime: Questions for the President: Prescription for America" ... had the fewest viewers in the 10 p.m. hour (against NBC's "The Philanthropist" debut and a repeat of "CSI: NY" on CBS). The special tied some 8 p.m. comedy repeats as the lowest-rated program on a major broadcast network. (Live Feed)

Or maybe people are just getting tired of his bullshit.

Thomas Sowell, who I find to be one of the most well reasoned and non-alarmist of commentators, has a piece sounding the alarm and discussing how we can save our nation:

The stakes in all this are far higher than which element becomes dominant in which party or which party wins more elections. Both the domestic and the foreign policy direction of the current administration in Washington are leading this country into dangerous waters, from which we may or may not be able to return.

A quadrupling of the national debt in just one year and accepting a nuclear-armed sponsor of international terrorism like Iran are not things from which any country is guaranteed to recover.

Just two nuclear bombs were enough to get Japan to surrender in World War II. It is hard to believe that it would take much more than that for the United States of America to surrender-- especially with people in control of both the White House and the Congress who were for turning tail and running in Iraq just a couple of years ago.

Perhaps people who are busy gushing over the Obama cult today might do well to stop and think about what it would mean for their grand-daughters to live under sharia law.

The glib pieties in Barack Obama's televised sermonettes will not stop Iran from becoming a nuclear terrorist nation. Time is running out fast and we will be lucky if it doesn't happen in the first term of this president. If he gets elected to a second term -- which is quite possible, despite whatever economic disasters he leads us into-- our fate as a nation may be sealed.

What to do?

The "smart money" says that the way for the Republicans to win elections is to appeal to a wider range of voters, including minorities, by abandoning the Ronald Reagan kinds of positions and supporting more of the kinds of positions that Democrats use to get elected....

Its the RINO argument of abandoning or at least soft pedaling what we actually stand for. Look how well thats worked:

It is the mushy "moderates"-- the "kinder and gentler" Bush 41, Bob Dole and John McCain-- who lost disastrously, even in two cases to Democrats who were initially very little known, but who knew how to talk.

People respect those who actually stand for something and that is what got Ronal Reagan elected. All we need to do is articulate why our country's core principles are good for America.

Bookworm Room has noticed that The One's lying follows a pattern called, in the legal world, "the affirmative defense."
As an example of how this plays out, imagine a complaint alleging that I smashed my car into a fence, destroying it. I’d start by saying, “No, I didn’t.” Then I’d begin the affirmative defenses: (1) “Okay, I did bring my car into contact with the fence, but I didn’t actually hurt the fence.” (2) “Okay, I hurt the fence, but I didn’t hurt it badly enough to entitle its owner to any damages.” (3) “Okay, I destroyed the fence, but it was falling down already, so it’s really the owner’s fault, so he gets no damages.” And on and on, in a reductio ad absurdum stream of admissions and excuses.
There is example after example of his use of this particular form of dishonesty.

... from Commentary’s Contentions (in a post fittingly titled Not What It Seems):

The president’s press conference was a tour de force of misdirection.

Even worse was his denial of what everyone knows: the president’s language on Iran has toughened in response (one supposes) to critics inside and outside the administration who found his initial statements inexcusably weak:

So we’ve been entirely consistent, Major, in terms of how we’ve approached this. My role has been to say the United States is not going to be a foil for the Iranian government to try to blame what’s happening on the streets of Tehran on the CIA or on the White House, that this is an issue that is led by and given voice to the frustrations of the Iranian people.

Does he even believe this? We went from “no meddling” and no real difference between Ahmadinejad and Mousavi to “appalled” and “condemn.” You judge. And why does the president lie? ...

Bottom line: the man has a personality disorder (malignant narcissism is my guess), and such people lie compulsively. But, typical for a narcissist, Obama will deny that he lies and, in a way, he’s right. While normal people know they are lying, narcissists don’t. Instead, because they are the center of their own universe, they always view their needs at any particular moment as the truth. There is no past, there is no future, there is only the need in the now.
Chairman Zero is mentally ill and we have nukes pointed at us.

What could go wrong? (BTW, the responses to the post at Bookworm Room are well worth checking out- really awesome comments!)

From Huffpo, the blog that had a "reporter" at The One's last "press conference" who was answered before Obama was asked, comes yet another Christians-are-the-devil diatribe.

Reported by Frank J. Fleming:
Frank Schaeffer wrote a column for the Huffington Post entitled “The Real Lesson of Iran — Beware America’s Republican Mullahs.” Reading it and the comments to it, I came to a realization: people who think the religious right are just like Iranian mullahs are just like Iranian mullahs.

The article is pretty creepy. Schaeffer makes reference to “neocons” by the second sentence, which already raises flags, as it seems it’s getting hard these days for anyone to use that word and not be a crank. And the whole premise is quite disturbing. The author has seen all the horrors of people being brutalized and murdered over just wanting their voices heard, and he comes to the conclusion that his completely unrelated political opponents — Republicans — are very bad.

It takes a certain kind of sociopath to witness great tragedy and then turn back to his narrow political talking points completely unaffected. It’s pretty much the same as seeing someone brutally murdered in the street and saying, “This is why we need to change subsidies on corn farming.”

...then I read the comments to the article. There were people actually agreeing with this. People who somehow have the intelligence and motor skills to use a computer and write semi-coherent English sentences. They all seemed convinced that Christians were waiting outside their rooms to strangle them with rosaries, and the only thing protecting the country was their vigilance.

With this unquestioned certainty that people with different views than theirs are extremely evil and dangerous, what do you think they’d do to Christians and conservatives if they ever got into power? They were already plotting in the comments on how to eliminate and marginalize millions of Americans, and how do you think that would go? I’d say look to Iran and the violence and execution and oppression of anyone who dares go against them and then you’ll see exactly what we’d have if these people who think the religious right are just like Iranian mullahs ever seized control of the country.

And the left wonders how the hell anyone could ever think them Totalitarian-bent.

I wonder how the hell they can't see themselves.

Aw hell, we don't need 'em anyhow. Any Demi-God that can cause the ocean levels to go down can certainly destroy missiles using his super-human powers! He is, after all, The Lightworker, The One and the healer of the world!

I really don't have any other explanation for his course of inaction:

During the campaign last year, Obama repeatedly said that he would make missile defense cuts because our missile shields were “untested” and “unproven”. And it appears he’s keeping that promise, because he has plans to cut $1.2 billion from our missile defense next year, as well as providing no new funds to our missile shields in Europe....

His $1.2 billion in cuts will shrink the number of interceptor missiles in Alaska from 44… to 30. And this has both Republicans and Democrats worried. With all of the uncertainty about what the next threat from Iran or North Korea will be, an added layer of protection would not be unwise. The National Endowment for the Arts recently received $50 million in stimulus dollars. Amtrak received $1 billion dollars. Couldn’t we perhaps have taken some of that wasted money and put it towards something that the country actually needs? (Cassy Fiano)

Oh and speaking of Gods, Conservative Black Woman posted this great quote from the 1800's that we might do well to remember:
J.C. Ryle (1816-1900) wrote the following in Fire, Fire!:

Beware of manufacturing a god of your own: a god who is all mercy but not just, a god who is all love but not holy, a god who has a heaven for everybody but a hell for none, a god who can allow good and bad to be side by side in time, but will make no distinction between good and broad in eternity. Such a god is an idol of your own, as truly an idol as any snake or crocodile in an Egyptian temple. The hands of your own fancy and sentimentality have made him.
Sound familiar?

Its hard to believe that there were many, many years when, like most everyone I knew and worked with, I took these fine people for granted, at best, and thought of them with an arrogant kind of snotty contempt, at worse. I'm ashamed that I was ever that way.

Former liberal Charles Winecoff talks about how he came to respect and admire the brave men and women that keep us safe:
...On 9/11, real war roared back with a vengeance - right in our own backyard. This was no channel-changer shot through a telephoto lens; this was horror, up close and personal (until the networks stopped showing the blood and falling bodies, and opted for a more “objective” bird’s eye view).

That’s when we finally saw soldiers again - as real men and women - firefighters and police officers and military personnel all working together, the best of human nature on spontaneous display, surprising and selfless. That’s when we witnessed the triumph of the flag again, without embarrassment or excuses, hoisted up as a beacon in the midst of apocalyptic chaos and sorrow.

That’s when ordinary Americans, like me, who never knew real war or much suffering, began to understand what was truly at stake. That’s when, for many of us, “soldier” took on a new meaning. Soldiers were no longer just toys or the pathetic pawns of a ruthless war machine; they were fellow citizens of integrity and courage, brave individuals from diverse backgrounds, willing to go places most Americans would never dream of going - often because their consciences told them to.

These were men and women who cared enough to risk everything for others, and to stand proudly for an ideal.

I never knew any soldiers. I never had to. I was always safely ensconced at home, free to live my life and pursue whatever interests I wanted . The closest I came to knowing a soldier was an NYPD cop, a friend who lost his wife in the World Trade Center attack. Despite the constant stress of his job, the long hours and bad weather and petty violence he saw on his beat - and the agony of his loss - I never once heard him say an unkind or demeaning word about anyone, of any race, or any religion.

On the contrary, I heard him say, quite matter of factly, that if he died on the job, it would be worth it, if it prevented more misery from happening. He was willing to give up his own life as part of his job. How many of us would ever consider, could ever fathom, such a commitment?

That’s a hero. That’s a soldier. And it’s no fairy tale - it comes from having a mind, a heart, and a spine.

God bless the men and women who share those attributes, and move forward everyday, knowing it could be their last. We are so grateful you really do exist.

A mind, a heart and a spine. If only our leaders were that way.

We can say thank you here during Troopathon 2009.

Greg Gutfield offers a little perspective:
In our current culture, here’s what we consider “daring:” barbed wire tattoos around the biceps of scrawny witless musicians, well-abbed unemployed drifters found on various reality shows, pierced, preeny “in your face” dip-wads from pranky stunt shows, spoken word cretins fueled by rage and poor hygiene, performance artists who use their own bodily fluids as both canvas and paint, brain-dead hard-partying actresses with assorted infections, extreme adventurers who require public-funded rescues, animal rights activists with more tics than friends, creepy new age healers who drink their own urine - and of course, Adrian Grenier.

But overlooked as the truly coolest people in America? Those folks who put their lives on the line for their country. These are the people who deserve the reality shows, the fat paychecks, the accolades and the free drinks at swanky clubs.

....so lets do it again.

Amazing. From Moonbattery:
Two U.S. Democratic lawmakers want Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to relax recently tightened standards for mortgages on new condominiums, saying they could threaten the viability of some developments and slow the housing-market recovery, the Wall Street Journal said.

Representatives Barney Frank (D-MA) and Anthony Weiner (D-NY) denounced the standards as "too onerous."

Readers will recall that it was Democrats imposing lax standards at Fannie and Freddie in the name of "social justice" that caused this whole mess in the first place.

Here's what a baby learns: when you stick your hand in the fire, it hurts, so you won't do that again.

Babies have more sense than Democratics like Barney, "Elmer Fudd," Frank.

Tell me again that there are no mental health issues at play here.

Insane. More for the WSJ.

What do you expect? Chairman Zero is giving $73 million
to the brutal Marxist Mugabe in Zimbabwe, while beginning outreach to the dictators of Venezuala and the terrorist government of Syria.

Israel, on the other hand, as he has demonstrated time and again, can go to hell.
