"THANKS FOR SPITTING ON MY COUNTRY! I APPRECIATE IT!"

At President Obama's meeting with the heads of South American countries this morning, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez stood, walked over to him, and presented him with a copy of "Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent" by Uruguayan author Eduardo Galeano. (ABC)

It trashes America as an evil imperialist nation that has done nothing but oppress Latin America, never doing anything good. We suck, is the theme here.

He graciously accepted this "gift," that any sane leader would have been insulted by.
Obama also told the press today that the America-bashing book by Marxist author Eduardo Galeano that Chavez gave him was a nice gesture.
"You are taking a huge crap on my country? Thanks, buddy! That's a nice gesture!"

Maybe he really means it though. It certainly fits into his library of valued works. He's reading "The Post-American World" in the pic above (via Moonbattery).
