THOMAS SOWELL IS THE THE MAN!

There's an article at Pajamas Media comparing Thomas Sowell on the economic crisit to Arriana Huffington on the same.

Thomas Sowell is a public intellectual who helps us penetrate through the fog of ideology. Arianna Huffington is a prominent purveyor of that fog.

He explains why very well, but I love the words he used to describe Mr. Sowell, one of the best political writers I know of:

One of Sowell’s great gifts as a writer is the ability to articulate and then explode a piece of conventional wisdom that is all consensus and no wisdom.

So very true and he does it all with a minimum of verbiage. Genius. I have never read anything of his that wasn't totally worth my time. His columns can be found at Townhall regularly. He periodically just posts random thoughts. From his latest:

Wal-Mart has done more for poor people than any ten liberals, at least nine of whom are almost guaranteed to hate Wal-Mart.

Ronald Reagan had a vision of America. Barack Obama has a vision of Barack Obama.

As American incomes have risen over the years, liberals have kept changing the definition of "poverty." Otherwise, the dwindling numbers of people who could be called "poor" would take away the liberals' main claim to influence and power.

An e-mail from a reader whose job requires him to take urine tests, to make sure he is drug-free, wonders why he is taxed to provide money to people on welfare who are also on drugs. He thinks they should have to take urine tests too, before they get his money.
