MINORITIES, PRIDE AND SHAME.

Dennis Prager has an excellent piece on the subject. Shame is what white, straight, Western Christians should feel, not ever pride. Pride is what every minority should feel, and not ever shame. Does it make sense to say one race, orientation or religion always does wrong and that another always gets a free pass? Indeed, that is the huge attraction of being able to label oneself as a minority. Any problems in your life? They are never your fault- they are because of the hideous oppression you experience. You can do whatever the hell you want and never have to feel responsible. God, I used to LOVE that!

Is there something inherently wrong about members of minorities expressing anything but group pride? Are there no minority sins worthy of shame? The latter is in fact the argument advanced by many intellectuals concerning black racism, for example. For a generation, college students have been taught that it is impossible for blacks to be racist because only the racial group in power, i.e. whites, can express racism.

Of course, that is nonsense. A black can be a racist just as a white can be one. A minority race might not have the power to implement racist national policies but that hardly means that no minority group, or any individual, can be a racist.

I remember being confused by that non-argument in school, but I went along with it because it was being made by the good people, so it had to be true. The number of years I held onto this crap in the face of increasing evidence to the contrary speaks to the depth of the delusion foisted up by the left. Religious feeeeeelings are hard to refute! And here's something interesting to think about:

If only the majority group is expected to express shame, then only the majority group is expected to be governed by rules of morality. It is, ironically, the highest moral compliment to Americas white Christians that they are the only American group of whom expressions of shame are expected. It means more is morally expected of them than of anyone else.

In other words it's bigoted, and expecting less from Americans of African descent is racist. It's the democratic party. They've always been racist, but now, instead of using their military arm, the KKK, as they did in the past, they use non-violent tactics to keep people in their place. What is really creepy is that the vast majority of them are blind to their racist policies and live in the belief that they are helping people.
