THE HORRIBLE OPPRESSION THAT IS CHRISTMAS

Atheists have placed a sign with the other "holiday" decorations at the state capitol of Washington:

“Someone needed to take a stand against dangerous traditions like Christmas,” said Dan Barker, co-president of the foundation. “Especially during this time of the year, when lies about the importance of the so-called savior abound.”

Barker was circumspect when asked why his organization tends to protest only religions with track records of being peaceful and accepting of others.

“Peaceful? My friend, I’d like to mention a little thing called the ‘Inquisition’. We all know what these Christians are capable of. Why earlier tonight we had to wade our way through dozens of glassy-eyed Hitler Youth standing in perfect formation and chanting ‘Silent Night’ just to put our ‘God is Dead’ sign up. Not to mention the host of bell-ringing zealots who tried to hypnotize us into putting our money into their large red God-kettles. You know. For ‘The Cause’.”

Barker noted that although all religions are hard-hearted and deserve equal scorn and ridicule, there are no plans to protest any Muslim holidays at this time.

“It’s not that we don’t want to because we’re scared,” said Barker. “It’s just that…actually we don’t want to because we’re scared.”

I always have to laugh at the "speak truth to power" phonies. They'll scream at what they call the police state and fascist Bushitler because...well...it isn't and he isn't- they don't have to worry about being carted off to jail or killed for their ranting and raving. But when it comes to real fascists and terrorists....well, they don't have too much to say. Go figure.
