IS IT ANY WONDER THIS GUY LOST?
In a surprising rebuke to the warriors who fought for him through tough times, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday sided with President-elect Barack Obama and scolded the Republican National Committee for fanning the Illinois corruption scandal. (Politico)From Ace of Spades:
Funny how it's always the Republicans fault in McCain's mind.I thought McCain rewrote the 1st Amendment because we had to worry about the "appearance of corruption". Yet now that we have actual corruption on the part of a sitting governor, we must not ask any questions of Obama but rather just sit and wait for Him to tell us what He thinks we need to know.
If the republican party ever nominates a man like this again, I'll save myself the trouble and stay home. Yes, nice is nice. But nice at the expense of yourself, your party and your country? He'd rather be nice than win. That's a big reason why he lost. Now he'd rather be nice than see justice done. Calling a pile of poo a pile of poo? That's just not nice! "I'm honorable, dammit!"
Honor is not a fetish. Nice is not an ABSOLUTE value; but to McCain, apparently, it is- reality be damned.
