Why would the UN declare the debate to be over and the evidence irrefutable, in the face of such a huge number of scientists that disagree?

Think about it. It's a global problem. It requires a global solutions. From a global government. A one-world government, over and above national sovereignty - as The Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers says, we are all "citizens of the world." What a great excuse to seize control!
