THE NEW PUNK ROCK

When I left my left-wing idiocy behind me and became a conservative republican, with where I live and where I work, I became a total outsider. I was startled to realize that I had once again become punk rock. I spent years in that scene- its tenants being think for yourself, don't conform, fight the bullshit. Now, once again, that was what I was doing! The left had become mainstream and I was bucking the system and pissin people off- many time by merely having the gall to disagree with the orthodoxy.

Rock bands, celebrities, the MSM, schools, they all exist to enforce their insane, failed post-modern socialist worldview and anyone who dissents has become a pariah at best, and evil hatemonger at worst.

So I was gratified to see an article in Big Hollywood byDoug TenNapel saying the same thing.

The arts have failed. They no longer keep mass culture in check with thought-provoking art that challenges the establishment. Now they’re in charge of spreading the mainstream mandate of the Liberal Vatican. There isn’t an original thought among them, just a thousand-mile stare, a blue logo and the drone-like vocabulary of emotive, vaguely inspiring chants.

We’re the new rebellion against the majority juggernaut that doesn’t take kindly to dissent. Make a fist and show them what happens when they tell you what to think, feel and believe.

If you want me to unite to your cause, then end abortion, give the people back the money they earned, fight terror, keep your hands off free speech on the radio and enable job creators to make more jobs. Until then, screw your hope and screw your change.

You want to be a rebel? Then fight against thought control, conformity and the evil establishment. The most important thing people in my scene believed back in the day was that above all else, don't be a phony. What can be more phony than taking the pose of a rebel with your mohawk and leather when you are nothing but a mouthpiece for the people in control that want to shut everyone else the hell up? A mouthpiece for a government that wants to control every aspect of your life? It takes phoniness to a whole new level.

Johnny Ramone was a republican and was fond of appearing in a t-shirt with a big arm makin a fist and the words, "kill a commie for mommy." Over the top? Yes. Kinda funny? Yes. That's punk rock. What makes it even more so is that he truly did think for himself, screw who didn't like it.

Check out Conservative Punk.
