THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GRACIOUSNESS AND PRAISE

The blogs have been all over the place, mostly assuming the best, finding things to praise The One about and wishing him well. Protein Wisdom has a post taking issue with some. He makes what I think is a very important point: there is a difference between graciousness and praise. I feel we should be gracious. Its what decent people do. But give The Obamessiah praise? Hell no. From the posting:
In an political environment wherein the left has managed to turn the introduction of inconvenient facts into “smears” or “racism,” this willingness, on the part of some conservatives, to believe themselves capable of seizing the moral high ground by essentially giving cover to the demonstrably bad by allowing that it is merely “misguided,” is yet another step toward the very kind of partisan pragmatism that has cost Republicans so dearly, and that, even more troubling, has served to devalue language and further institutionalize a dangerous idea of how interpretation works.
...

Don’t want to be offended? Learn to interpret properly.

Here, similarly, progressives — who ran a thuggish campaign that consisted of truth squads, attempts to have advertising removed, the personal and very public destruction of private citizens (from Joe the Plumber to Trig Palin) — can take from “high minded” posts like Patterico’s the message that they can always count on conservative self-righteousness to protect them from recrimination, that their pragmatism and cynicism will always prove successful strategically so long as conservatives maintain a desire to appear above the fray.

...

It matters who gets called a “good man.” It matters who we say has this country’s best interests at heart. And yes, it’s possible Obama does, to a certain extent — though what is important to recognize is that, at least so far as his governing principles to this point suggest, he doesn’t hold that view from the perspective of the country as it was founded, and as it was intended to be governed.

Which means that Obama’s best interests for the country are really the best interests for a country he’d like to see this one become — a new text that he’d like us to believe will be but an re-interpretation of the original text.

As someone who believes in the principles upon which this country was founded, I refuse to allow that someone whose ideological predispositions compel him to radically redefine that “imperfect document” that is the Constitution, has this country’s best interests at heart.

And I likewise refuse to allow that a man whose thuggish deeds and unsavory associations have defined him be granted the honor of “good man.” Because to do so is to make a mockery of good men, and to cede yet another bit of our ability to evaluate and describe and conclude in good faith into a bit of “hate speech” that won’t help the GOP regain power.

To which I say, outlaws ain’t team players. And it’s time to be outlaws.

ELIMINATING DISSENT: IT'S FER YER OWN GOOD, YA IDIOTS!

At Protein Wisdom:

Philadelphia Daily News’ Will Bunch:

Yes, they’re voicing outrage today inside the sacred sanctuary of the Temple of Objective Journalism , where the celebrants nervously fingered their rosaries rather than confront the Constitutional bonfire that was building outside.

But for eight years now, there’s been an out-of-control fire raging outside of that temple – a fire that was built upon the USA Patriot Act and Guantanamo and rendition and torture and signing statements and 16 words in a State of the Union Address. Ultimately, saving the last fabric of democracy is more important than worrying about what contrived commandments of journalism were stepped on while the blaze was finally extinguished.

I myself would call it truth-telling, and honest journalism, but now we have some who want to call it “media bias.” That’s fine with me, but understand this.

“Media bias” may have just saved America.

Objectivity suppressed in the name of the Greater Good.

Call that attitude fascist, and you’re a crazed wingnut. Because in the world of the progressives, the highest form of patriotism is a willingness to cast off bourgeois conventions, when to do so is convenient, if in the final analysis Greater Good is the result.

Nevermind that presuming the Greater Good is yours to define against the will of an informed electorate is anti-American (and so de facto unpatriotic). The solution to that is simply to redefine patriotism in a way that matches your agenda.

The ends justify the means. And if a democratic republic consistently proves itself incapable of doing the right thing, the right thing to do is to make sure that they no longer trip over their own persistent idiocy.

As defined by progressives.

Welcome to Hotel Orwell. Free cable — but no Fox News.

And from Moonbattery, this exchange between Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough:

Mathews:

I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new presidency work.

Gasped an astonished Joe Scarborough:

Is that your job? You just talked about being a journalist!

In response, Tweety confirmed:

Yeah, it is my job. My job is to help this country.

Kind of like the way Pravda helped the country in the old Soviet days. MSM propagandists, being 100% responsible for an unvetted, unqualified, left-wing radical being elected to the White House on the strength of his skin color, now has zero credibility. Their allies in Congress had better hurry along with the Unfairness Doctrine, because as it sinks in what these moonbats have passed off to the public as a President, their ratings will dry up as fast as the value of your stocks in light of The One's promises to raise capital gains taxes.

SHOW SOME COMPASSION TO THE LEFT

It has to be a really difficult time for them right now. The election is over and all they have left to do is to go back to their empty lives. No more purpose. No more meaning. We on the right still have what we've always had, so we're fine, but they only have their nihilistic post-modernism and bankrupt cultural marxism. It has to be cold comfort. Maybe we should try to show some compassion for these folks. And think about it- with the presidency and both houses theirs, they don't have anyone left to yell at, no targets for their seething anger and hatred. Can you image what it must feel like to have to deal with all of that and not be able to put it on someone else? Its not like the political situation will change their underlying mental health issues or anything. What will happen when things start going to hell because of their policies? Who will they blame? I think its time we put aside our petty, partisan differences and extend the hand of kindness to these poor unhappy people.

Greg understands their pain:

For most of my adult life I have always been amused by the phrase, "speaking truth to power," a strange amalgam of words that roughly translated, means: "shouting at people who remind me of daddy."

The only people who think they can speak truth to power, of course, are liberals. It is a self-satisfying exercise for them: a wonderfully therapeutic wash of emotion derived from throwing a pie at a conservative speaker on campus, or calling her a Nazi. Or both.

In academic and media circles, though, this so-called act of bravery possesses the risk level of playing solitaire without a helmet.

That`s why speaking truth to power is a sham: you can`t do it, if everyone around you agrees with you. Speaking truth to power can only be heroic if there`s a possibility you could lose something: your freedom, your life, your job, your Gucci sandals. Speaking truth to power is supposed to fuel unpopularity, and come at a cost.

Which is why the Obama presidency could be totally awesome. I mean, imagine if all the people who pride themselves on speaking truth to power end up speaking truth to power to the Obama administration – which consists of people who normally speak truth to power! If this actually happens, the earth could implode and I may have a complete nervous breakdown.

I may even have to move to Belgium. But don`t count on it. I hate wallabees.

And if you disagree with me, then you sir are worse than Hitler!

OH NOES! THE DISAPPOINTMENT BEGINS!

From WTHR:

Indianapolis - Lines were long and tempers flared Wednesday not to vote but to get paid for canvassing for Barack Obama. Several hundred people are still waiting to get their pay for last-minute campaigning. Police were called to the Obama campaign office on North Meridian Street downtown to control the crowd.

The line was long and the crowd was angry at times.

"I want my money today! It's my money. I want it right now!" yelled one former campaign worker.

Lol.

I spoke with someone the other day that has always given quite a bit of money to various charities. No longer. When they contact her she will direct them to ask the government. And its only fair. The vast majority of the recipients of charity voted for the Obamessiah's plan to take our money and give it to those he finds more deserving of it. Make a bed? Lie in it.
THE OBAMA MINIONS ARE IN CRISIS!

KING'S LEGACY

I was watching the talking heads on Fox today talking about Obama's history making win and its validation of King's legacy. Please. From IMAO:

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Just for the record, we’re still not close to Martin Luther King’s ideal. The Obama voters were a mix of people judging him on the color of his skin and the more enlightened who judged him neither on the color of his skin or the content of his character since there was no content of his character to judge. They just really really hoped he’ll be a good president despite not have no evidence to back that up.

REACTIONS FROM THE RIGHT AND THE LEFT

All through the blogosphere the overwhelming majority of postings are from better people than I, it seems. They are congratulatory, tempered, calling for respect towards our new president and urging us to all give him the benefit of the doubt. No rioting in the streets, as was promised by the left had things gone the other way. It's the reaction I expected from the right.

The left on the other hand is another story. Atlas Shrugs was tipped off to this (pic above):
I think we have just seen the beginning. My daughter is working in a bar in Chicago right now,12:20am. She was waiting on a table of 6 black men and this is the tip they left her. Open the attachment. It shows the paper that they left her on the table as her tip. So as we are watching the first black President giving his acceptance speech the black Americans are now calling the White House the Black house (and my daughter) "Bitch." I am so upset!
She's posted a sample of the hate mail she recieved just after the announcement of our doom, most of which I won't post here because of the over the top language. This one was the nicest:
Kikes like you Pam make me sympathize with Hamas and Himmler.

Change. Yeah right.

THE WORLD REACTS TO OBAMA'S WIN

From Dr. Sanity:

Stocks fall as investors ponder Obama presidency

Baghdad rocked by fresh bombings

Gaza rockets fired after clashes

Iran army warns US forces to steer clear of borders

Russia to move missiles to Baltic

Congratulations.

AN INTERESTING TAKE ON THE NEXT 4 YEARS

Although I think the author makes a good point about not falling into an "Obama Derangement Syndrome" mentality, I disagree with his saying that he is not truly evil. He is evil. The left's demonization of Bush sprang from their paranoid delusions, not any evidence from the actual world. Obama, however, has already clearly demonstrated his...er..."character" through his long and varied alliances with racitst, terrorists and crooks. Small difference. From Chizumatic:

It's easy to let yourself go in despair and start thinking things like "We are well-and-truly fucked" or "This is the worst of all possible outcomes". But it isn't true.

I think this election is going to be a "coming of age" moment for a lot of people. They say, "Be careful what you wish for" and a lot of people got their wish yesterday.

And now they're bound to be disappointed. Not even Jesus could satisfy all the expectations of Obama's most vocal supporters, or fulfill all the promises Obama has made.

I think Obama is going to turn out to be the worst president since Carter, and for the same reason: good intentions do not guarantee good results. Idealists often stub their toes on the wayward rocks of reality, and fall on their faces. And the world doesn't respond to benign behavior benignly.

But there's another reason why: Obama has been hiding his light under a basket. A lot of people bought a pig in a poke today, and now they're going to find out what they bought. Obama isn't what most of them think he is. The intoxication of the cult will wear off, leaving a monumental hangover.

And four years from now they'll be older and much wiser.

A lot of bad things are going to happen during this term. But I don't think that this is an irreversible catastrophe for the union. I've lived long enough to absorb this basic truth: the US is too large and too strong to destroy in just 4 years. Or even in 8. We survived 6 years of Nixon. We survived 4 years of Carter. We even survived 8 years of Clinton, God alone knows how.

The President of the United States is the most powerful political figure in the world, but as national executives go his powers are actually quite restricted. Obama will become President, but he won't be dictator or king, let alone deity. He still has to work with the House and the Senate, and he still has to live within Constitutional restrictions, and with a judiciary that he mostly didn't appoint.

The main reason this will be a "coming of age" moment is that now Obama and the Democrats have to put up or shut up. Obama got elected by making himself a blank slate, with vapid promises about "hope" and "change" -- but now he actually has to do something. Now he has to reveal his true agenda. And with the Democrats also having a majority in both chambers of Congress, now the Democrats really have to lead. And they're not going to do a very good job of it. It's going to be amusing to watch.

And the people who fell for the demagoguery will learn an invaluable lesson.

Oh, the Democrats try to blame failure on Republican filibusters, of which there will be many. But that's always been a factor in our system, and many people believe it's an important check on government excess. The tradition in the Senate is that it is supposed to be a buffer against transient political fads, and the filibuster is a major part of that.

If the Democrats go all in, and change the filibuster rule, then they'll have truly seized the nettle with both hands and won't have any excuses any longer. That's why they won't do it. It's their last fig-leaf. But even with the filibuster rule in place, they'll be stuck trying to deliver now on all the promises implied, or inferred, during this election. The Republicans can only filibuster on bills the Democrats have already proposed.

And it ain't possible for the Democrats to deliver what's been promised. Gonna be a hell of a lot of disillusioned lefties out there. A lot of people who felt they were deceived. A lot of people who will eventually realize that the Obama campaign was something of a cult.

Disillusionment will turn to a feeling of betrayal. And that will, in turn, convert to anger.

In the mean time, Obama and Congressional Democrats will do things that cause harm, but very little of it will be irreversible.

I would have enjoyed watching lefty heads explode if McCain had won. But we're going to see lefty heads exploding anyway; it's just going to take longer.

In the mean time, those of us who didn't want Obama to be president have to accept that he is. And let's not give in to the kind of paranoid fever dreams that have consumed the left for the last 8 years. Let us collectively take a vow tonight: no "Obama derangement syndrome". Obama is a politician. He isn't the devil incarnate.

So what are the good sides of what just happened?

1. It is no longer possible for anyone to deny that the MSM is heavily biased. The MSM have been biased for decades but managed an illusion of fairness. That is no longer possible; the MSM have squandered their credibility during this campaign. They'll never get that credibility back again.

2. Since the Democrats got nearly everything they hoped for in this campaign, they'll have no excuses and will have to produce. They'll have to reveal their true agenda -- or else make clear that they don't really have any beyond gaining power.

3. Every few decades the American people have to be reminded that peace only comes with strength. The next four years will be this generation's lesson.

Now, a few predictions for the next four years:

1. Obama's "hold out your hand to everyone" foreign policy is going to be a catastrophe. They'll love it in Europe. They're probably laughing their heads off about it in the middle east already.

2. The US hasn't suffered a terrorist attack by al Qaeda since 9/11, but we'll get at least one during Obama's term.

3. We're going to lose in Afghanistan.

4. Iran will get nuclear weapons. There will be nuclear war between Iran and Israel. (This is the only irreversibly terrible thing I see upcoming, and it's very bad indeed.)

5. There will eventually be a press backlash against Obama which will make their treatment of Bush look mild. Partly that's going to be because Obama is going to disappoint them just as much as all his other supporters. Partly it will be the MSM desperately trying to regain its own credibility, by trying to show that they're not in his tank any longer. And because of that they are eventually going to do the reporting they should have done during this campaign, about Obama's less-than-savory friends, and about voter fraud, and about illegal fund-raising, and about a lot of other things.

and 6. Obama will not be re-elected in 2012. He may even end up doing an LBJ and not even running again.

One last thing: I'm not saying I'm happy with this outcome. I would much rather have had McCain win. But this is not the end of the world, or the end of this nation. We've survived much worse.

And now we need to show the lefties how to lose. Our mission for the next four years is to be in opposition without becoming deranged.

UPDATE: One other good thing: no one will be spinning grand conspiracy theories about this administration's Vice President being an evil, conniving genius who is the true power behind the throne.

REAGAN SPEAKS TO AMERICA FROM THE DEAD!
Simi Valley, CA – Former President Ronald Reagan turned over in his grave last night and rose from the dead to deliver a message to the country.

“What the hell is going on down there?!,” Reagan shouted in a booming voice from his grave at his Presidential library, “What did you people just do?”

Reagan was reacting to the election of Barrack Hussein Obama as the next President of the United States.

“I said win one for the gipper, not win one for the United Socialist States of America,” fumed Reagan.

The former President was visibly upset after the results of last night’s election and what it means for the future of the Republic.
~
“I busted my hump for my entire political career to end the scourge of Communism and Socialism in the world and you people go and elect one as the President of the United States?” said Reagan who added with his usual wit and charm, “You kids better not make me come down there. I swear I will turn this car around and we will go right home.”

Reagan then spoke about his 1983 defense build up that broke the back of the former Soviet Union and freed millions of people form the rule of Communism.

“This country spent Trillions of dollars and thousands of lives to end this scourge once and for all. I thought it was all but dead save for Cuba and North Korea and they were on the way out the door when I shed my mortal coil and now you elect one as the leader of the country? That is an insult to every American service man and woman who made the ultimate sacrifice to God and country to end this evil for of government,” said Reagan.

“When I told Gorby to tear down that wall, I didn’t mean tear it down, move it to Washington and rebuild the damm thing,” said Reagan who added with tears in his eyes, “my legacy is destroyed. I now feel like my Presidency was a failure. I ended communism abroad, only to have it resurface in America.”

“Who would have thunk it. The President of Russia, who is a son-of-a-bitch, is a bigger conservative than the President of America,” sighed Reagan who added with his usual positive outlook, “if the country survived Carter for one term, we can survive Obama.
(yes, again- from The People's Cube)
MORE GOOD NEWS

From the amazingly wonderful People's Cube. If you havent checked this site, do so- it's chock full of yuks! But this posting from today is in all seriousness:
The good news for all of us after such a crushing defeat is that now is exactly the time to remember why it is that we are conservatives, and to hold true to our fundamental beliefs. It will not be an easy time to be a conservative in America over the next four years. There is a mood for socialism, but in America it is the voters in the middle ground that decide elections. This time they swung to the left, but the centre can always be gently nudged to the right using persuasive arguments founded on logical values that any decent hard working person will relate to and embrace (aka conservatism), as long as these arguments are prosecuted with a genuine conviction regarding conservatism's benefits.
~
Remember, the Left loves symbolism and grand but ultimately empty promises. Why? Because deep down they know their values and policies are based on unworkable and illogical utopian ideals, as opposed to Conservative philosophy which is grounded in how the world really works. The Left panders to that part of the electorate which "hopes" life will be easier under a changeling President. What some know and hide and others are ignorant to, is that change for a socialist is a socially engineered, high taxing paternalistic State, with a full time nanny tending to the "unenlightened" plebs.

Conservatives represent the interests of people who relate to policies that are based on individualism, small government, lower taxes, and less intervention in people’s lives, in other words a genuinely level playing field. The left's policies are based on a philosophy that the State knows best and people cannot be trusted to make their own choices. By contrast, Conservatives are of the view that people can and should make their own choices, but that this also gives the individual the right of personal responsibility, and accepting the consequences of your choices, without expecting the State to bail you out.

The risk (and rewards!!) of personal freedom and responsibility far outweigh the perceived comfort but ultimately the debilitating malaise of waiting fruitlessly for the State to send a shiver up your leg. This belief in the individual as the best determinant of personal fulfilment and happiness should be the foundation against which all policies on the Conservative side of politics are framed and argued for. This needs to be faithfully embraced to truly differentiate the Conservative brand from the counterfeit approach of Obama, so that people will be jolted out of their Camelot No.2 comfort zone. Socialists are very good at using emotional blackmail to force acceptance of their policies. Conservatives, now more than ever, need to be dedicated in prosecuting arguments using the simple and straightforward fundamentals of our ideas, in order to truly defend individualism and free choice, which is actually about the defence of the best constitution and country in the world.

TAKING ENCOURAGEMENT IN THE FACE OF EVIL

From V the K's:
If only one good thing has come from this election, it's that it is crystal clear who the enemy is. We don't have to compromise any more. We're liberated from having to back mushy moderates just because if the alternative gets power, it would be worse. Well, now the worse alternative is in power, and we have nothing to lose.

Americans have elected bad presidents before. We elected James Buchanan. We elected Woodrow Wilson. We even somehow elected Jimmy Carter. Americans get irrational and make stupid decisions sometimes, but somehow, we pull through. Obama will not be a good president. In the most likely scenarios, Chairman O's tenure is likely to be sub-Carter in its results. The result of his policies will be a recession deeper and more prolonged that Jimmy Carter's. And weakness abroad will lead only to humiliation at home. The Democrats can only avoid this fate by governing moderately and not over-reaching, and it is not in their character to do either.

Plus, there will be corruption. Oh boy, will there ever be corruption. The One rode into office on a wave of voter fraud and illegal campaign contributions, and he's not going to change his stripes once in office. The One has always surrounded himself with the worst sorts of political sewer trout like Tony Rezko, Frank Marshall and Jim Johnson. The greed of his associates will explode exponentially with the power of the presidency, and the stench will be too hard for even the media to hide.

And I'll be here to make fun of The One and his incompetence, his idiocy, his corruption, for as long as is necessary.

Don't despair. This is not a time for despair. The fun is just getting started. One of the wonderful things about being on the right is that our personal happiness is not tied to the success or failure of any political figure. For the next four years, we are still going to be happier, on balance, than our seething counterparts on the left... regardless of how much medication they take.

We will continue to present intelligent arguments against Chairman O's policies, and support our elected representatives in opposing them. No different than we would do under a McCain administration. We have to make the Democrats pay for every dollar they want to take away in taxes, for every freedom they want to take away from us, for every inch, for every yard. But we will fight them gleefully, and rejoice in every battle.

The things that really matter are our faith and our families. And not even Chairman O can take those away from us.

Take hope. Take Christ. Take faith.

LITTLE RAY OF SUNSHINE

Kim Novak on Obamessiah:

He may have opened the door to enactment of the long-deferred liberal agenda, but he neither received a broad mandate from the public nor the needed large congressional majorities.

The Democrats fell several votes short of the 60-vote filibuster-proof Senate that they were seeking and also failed to get rid of a key Senate target: Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

Republicans, though discouraged by the election's outcome, believe Obama will be hard-pressed not so much to enact his agenda but to keep his popular majority, which he considers centrist, as he moves to enact ultra-liberal legislation, particularly the demands of organized labor.

AMERICA?

The One will be doing all he can to make sure our Uncle Sam dies. He'll be using his Brownshirts to enforce his will:
"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
Seig Heil, mein OFuehrer.

He will appoint justices to the supreme court that will interpret the law differently depending on who a person is and who will be eager to change the constitution, a document that The Obamessiah sees as an irritating impediment to his plans.

He will destroy our economy.

He has already given our enemies gleeful smiles. I saw today that Russia has thrown down the glove. That didn't take long. Murderous thugs all over the world are rubbing their hands, smiling and getting ready to push around President Pussy.

The best that can happen is that if by some miracle we have no nuclear terrorist attack on our own soil, the public will get a chance to watch Obama's totalitarian socialist plans wreck our economy, trash the constitution and crack down on dissent.

His bumbling horror show just might cut through enough of the severe mental health issues half the nation is suffering from to get them motivated to kick his traitorous ass out after 4 years and elect someone who actually loves their country. Imagine that!

It sure looks dark, but these immortal words came back to me this morning: Uncle Sam

"A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology."
(Six Million Dollar Man)

Made me laugh anyhow.

Well I'm not giving up. This is a war, make no mistake. Its not about left or right, dem or rep, its about living or dying. McCain, to his credit, was obsessed with being honorable at all costs. And it did cost. The One, on the other hand, ran a campaign more sleazy, crooked and deceptive than I would have ever thought possible. And he won. I won't forget that lesson.

SIMPLE CHOICE: VOTE TO CONTINUE AMERICA OR END IT AFTER 232 YEARS.

It comes down to that.

Michelle Malkin:

Senator Obama vowed a few days ago that, if elected, he will “fundamentally transform” the United States of America. (Silly me, I thought he was supposed to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, not remodel it.) And so he may get to change some laws. He’ll definitely try to take our money and our guns. His goons may break some heads and wreck some careers.

But that fundamental change he’s been waiting for is going to be harder than he realizes. He cannot break our spirits. He cannot fundamentally transform us from Americans into cosmopolitan “citizens of the world”. He can’t deface our pride, and his depredations will only make us cling even more joyfully to our faith. No matter who wins this election, on November 5th, and on January 20th, and every day thereafter we will still be free and emancipated citizens of the greatest nation on God’s earth. Obama and his judges cannot just decree us otherwise.

Not unless we let him. Not unless we give up and act like we’re whipped. Not unless we bow down.

I won’t bow down. Not to the Obamessiah. And I won’t change–or if I do, it certainly won’t be a change he directs, and it won’t be into his idea of what I ought to be.

But maybe that won’t even happen. I remember going to bed in November 2000 thinking the same sort of thing about the incipient presidency of Al Gore. And look how that worked out…

As I said, it is out of our hands. Remain vigilant. Do not bow down. Do not give up.

Pray.

Jonah Goldberg:

The prospect of a Barack Obama presidency makes me very nervous.

Obama's entire campaign has been based on the need for radical, transformational change, which implies there is something very wrong with America.

It's hardly surprising, then, that he has painted the bleakest picture of America instead of acknowledging, as a starting point, that we are still the greatest nation in the world.

For the past eight years, Democrats have slandered America as an imperialistic country that always prefers force to diplomacy; that attacks nations without provocation to enrich itself and to project its power; that intentionally targets civilian lives; that encourages sadistic torture of enemy prisoners, as opposed to tough interrogation techniques to extract information to save the lives of its people; that eavesdrops on private conversations among its citizens rather than monitoring terrorist communications into its borders; and that abuses rather than goes out of its way to accommodate the savages in Guantanamo's prison. None of it is true.

For eight years, Democrats have poor-mouthed the mostly growing economy. They've lied that Bush's tax cuts for all income groups were only for the wealthy and that the cuts reduced revenues. They pretend to be deficit hawks, when Obama's new spending plans alone will make Bush look like Scrooge. They said Bush wanted to destroy Social Security, when he's the only one in the past 20 years who had the courage to try to reform it. All lies.

They've preached bipartisanship while exhibiting the nastiest partisanship in my lifetime, calling Bush "King George III," "Hitler," a "murderer," a "war criminal," a "reckless cowboy," a "moron" and a "Christian throwback." They've caricatured Bush as an unbending partisan who wouldn't reach across the aisle, in the face of his countless and mostly rebuffed bipartisan overtures and legislation. More disinformation.

They've deliberately divided this nation on the basis of race, class, gender and religion while telling us, falsely, that conservatives are racists, greedy, sexists, homophobes and religious bigots.

The propaganda triumvirate -- Democrats, the liberal media and leftist bloggers -- have portrayed President Bush, Vice President Cheney and America as dark and evil forces and have whipped the country into a frenzy of desperation, setting the table for a charismatic leader to deliver us from the despair they've manufactured with relentless precision.

Barack Obama, with his mysterious past and messianic aura, then burst upon the scene with the focused purpose of capitalizing on the public's perceived woes by offering dramatic change and unspecified hope. As if the script had been written just for him, he stepped right into his role, expanding on this theme of despair. He stressed how bleak conditions are, how unfair America is to the less fortunate and middle class, how ugly America is in foreign affairs, how the values of average Americans are warped (bitter clingers), how hardworking producers who oppose confiscatory tax rates but who contribute more to charity than Obama and his running mate even contemplate are selfish, and how America is a global environmental menace.

With all respect, almost everything about Obama's campaign is fraudulent. He masquerades as a uniter while dividing, polarizing and alienating us. He denies he's liberal, when objective sources score him as the most liberal senator. He says he barely knows militants and radicals with whom he has spent his lifetime cavorting and whose worldviews -- horrifyingly -- he shares. He brazenly disguises welfare redistributions as tax cuts. He and his surrogates keep changing his tax plan.

With his ideas about spreading the wealth, entrepreneurial selfishness, the ongoing "original sin" in our Constitution, the inherent evil of corporations, nationalized health care, and the civil rights movement not doing enough to bring about "economic justice" -- a euphemism for "Marxism" used by radicals, such as Bill Ayers, who still hate America -- are you not concerned at just how far Obama might go if he's got a nearly veto-proof Democratic majority at his back?

With his known discomfort with American exceptionalism, his naive mindset about good and evil in the world, his reckless underestimation of threats to America, his stated intention to disarm our nuclear weapons unilaterally, his open-borders extremism, his willingness to relax our intelligence monitoring, and his misguided concern for terrorists' rights, how can America be as secure under his watch?

With his sordid background in "community organizing" and his symbiotic relationship with an organization that is engaged in a systematic effort to steal this election, his thug tactics to investigate and silence his critics, and his Democratic colleagues' willingness to use government to shut down conservative talk radio, are you not worried about our liberties under an Obama administration?

Before our very eyes, America stands poised to elect as president the most radical man ever to run for this office credibly. Don't say we didn't warn you.

AMERICA'S FAILING MENTAL HEALTH

It used to puzzle me as to how otherwise intelligent, well-educated people could be so profoundly deluded and, well, stupid. Dr. Sanity explains:
Everything can be explained by this kind of paranoid logic. In fact, paranoia is really nothing more than the use of reason and logic in the service of the irrational and bizarre.
  • Are you poor? Someone must have robbed you of what you are entitled to!
  • Are you angry and experiencing hatred, but like to think of yourself as a loving, compassionate sort of person? Then the object of your hatred magically becomes the one who hates...you!
  • Is your genius not universally recognized? You must have powerful enemies that prevent you from achieving the success you know should be yours.
  • Have you made mistakes in your life? Someone has clearly tricked you into acting a certain way otherwise you wouldn't have.
Has your ideology continually and repeatedly failed in the real world and resulted in death and misery for all who implement it? Take heart! It is not your fault or your ideology's! Either it wasn't implemented virutously enough; or there were evil [Republican, Neocon, Male, White, Christian, Jewish] forces (choose one or more) that have been plotting against it!

The above mental gymnastics allow the paranoid person to externalize blame and avoid responsibility for his situation in life, as well as his own feelings. It is always someone else's fault and not his. It is always someone else who is experiencing the objectionable feelings, and he is always the victim of it.

In addition to externalizing blame for one's own pitiful situation in life, there is yet another advantage to paranoia and projection: very often, a creative distortion of reality can reliably pump up one's own self-esteem! You are the righteous; persecuting the true racists thus proving you, yourself, are incapable of any racist thoughts or emotions! Aren't you wonderful?

Sometimes, it pumps it that self-esteem up at the expense of a great deal of fear; but nevertheless, it is comforting to know that someone appreciates your genius or the threat you represent. Clearly if the CIA, FBI, aliens, Jews , POTUS, Republicans, Business/capitalism, Big Oil [--fill in your favorite bogeyman here--] are out to get you, you must be very special and unique indeed.

In short, paranoia and its baby brother projection organize and distort reality in a way that makes it palatable; and, at the same time help the user to avoid recognizing some unpleasant truths about himself. When practiced on a societal or cultural level, it accomplishes the same thing on a larger scale. All you have to do is eliminate the external problem and everything will be all right and you'll never have to question your beliefs--or say you are sorry-- again.

The con artist does this consciously and deliberately and understands the effectiveness of the psychological maneuver. Con artists come in all sorts of political stripes, of course, but in our day the great examples are pretty much exclusive to the political left, because the vast majority of the left's minions have such an intense need to appear virtuous. In fact, the appearance of virtue in themselves is much more important than any other reality.

Reality is always redrawn in order to pump up their own righteousness and virtue. Anyone who opposes their policies is automatically branded as racist, sexist, homophobic, islamophobic-- take your pick, depending on the circumstances.

Hell, anyone who offers ANY new ideas in these areas are automatically branded with one of the "isms".

It is useless to point out the truth to people in the grip of these kind of paranoid delusions. It is just so easy to attribute one's own cynical motives and unacceptable feelings to others, particularly when such attribution is culturally sanctioned.

It is inconceivable to paranoid persons that people actually exist who view the situation differently from them. It is inconceivable that they could be wrong about their perception of reality. Con men always think others are out to con them. In fact, most paranoids consider themselves the ONLY reality-based community, because they get to define what reality is and it is always what they happen to feel. And it is always about making sure they feel good and virtuous and self-righteous.

Paranoia and projection also provide a rationale and justification (to the paranoid, at least) for acting out against those who--from their perspective-- stand in the way of implementing their social programs; or will not submit to the will of their god (whoever and whatever it may be).

It's more than creepy to realize that, in major cities at least, you are surrounded with the clinically insane.
UPDATE: ITS NOW THOSE MAKING OVER 70,000 THAT WILL GET A TAX HIKE

Shocker. That number just keeps gettin lower and lower, doesn't it?
What Obamessiah will bring, from Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler:
Massive tax hikes (the limit for when you’re “rich” just got lowered to $70,000, by the way), the deliberate destruction of domestic energy production (see below) and skyrocketing energy prices, which is just what an economy in crisis needs.

Not exactly, but it is what a budding dictator needs in order to consolidate his totalitarian gains, and since he doesn’t have the benefit of a Weimar Republic creating the necessary pre-conditions, he’ll just go ahead and create them himself.

Meanwhile, the press will just kindly shut up, according to the Obameinführer. He’s got a Machtergreifung to attend.

WON'T IT BE GREAT IF THIS HAPPENS?

The One is measuring for the curtains already. His arrogance could be his undoing. Thanks to Ace:

SEN. MENEDEZ UPSET WITH CAVUTO, SO THREATENS TO SHUT DOWN FOX.

They just can't wait to eliminate free speech, can they? From Hillary Clinton Forum:
Cavuto ... went through each of Obama's tax proposals regarding businesses and personal income. Mmemendez, robot-like, with that glazed donut expression we have come to associate with all Obama droids, tried to tell Cavuto that Cavuto was wrong in criticizing The One's plan for utopia. Cavto was having none of it, and, item by item, showed how Menendez/Obama were just lying or just plain stupid. Mmenendez did not like this. After several minutes of Menendez trying to give an Obama stump speech about Evil Business and how The One would destroy business "for the good of the middle class,"

Menendez finally lost that glassy smile and, as Cavuto gave him one more spanking on still another Obama idiocy, turned to Cavuto and said,

"I hope you are not one of the ones forced off the air" (when we pass the Fairness Doctrine, which had been the previous topic).

LEFTIST CELEBRITY CALLS FOR THE DEATH OF JOE THE PLUMBER

Peace. Love. Totalitarian Socialism.

From The Radio Equalizer:
KGO / San Francisco libtalker / Obama supporter Karel has been caught on tape calling for the death of Joe The Plumber.

Karel, also known as Charles Karel Bouley, is an evening and weekend host at KGO radio in San Francisco. This incident occurred during Saturday evening's show.

Based in Los Angeles, Karel is a gay activist who also writes for the Huffington Post website.

This latest incident caps a weekend of unhinged behavior by Obama's supporters, including a call for the death of Mormons campaigning on behalf of Proposition 8 in California and the push for an investigation into the "leak" that Obama's aunt was an illegal alien facing deportation.
ANOTHER GRATUITOUS THOMAS SOWELL RE-POSTING:

After the big gamble on subprime mortgages that led to the current financial crisis, is there going to be an even bigger gamble, by putting the fate of a nation in the hands of a man whose only qualifications are ego and mouth?

Barack Obama has the kind of cocksure confidence that can only be achieved by not achieving anything else.

Anyone who has actually had to take responsibility for consequences by running any kind of enterprise-- whether economic or academic, or even just managing a sports team-- is likely at some point to be chastened by either the setbacks brought on by his own mistakes or by seeing his successes followed by negative consequences that he never anticipated.

The kind of self-righteous self-confidence that has become Obama's trademark is usually found in sophomores in Ivy League colleges-- very bright and articulate students, utterly untempered by experience in real world.

The signs of Barack Obama's self-centered immaturity are painfully obvious, though ignored by true believers who have poured their hopes into him, and by the media who just want the symbolism and the ideology that Obama represents.

The triumphal tour of world capitals and photo-op meetings with world leaders by someone who, after all, was still merely a candidate, is just one sign of this self-centered immaturity.

"This is our time!" he proclaimed. And "I will change the world." But ultimately this election is not about him, but about the fate of this nation, at a time of both domestic and international peril, with a major financial crisis still unresolved and a nuclear Iran looming on the horizon.

For someone who has actually accomplished nothing to blithely talk about taking away what has been earned by those who have accomplished something, and give it to whomever he chooses in the name of "spreading the wealth," is the kind of casual arrogance that has led to many economic catastrophes in many countries.

The equally casual ease with which Barack Obama has talked about appointing judges on the basis of their empathies with various segments of the population makes a mockery of the very concept of law.

After this man has wrecked the economy and destroyed constitutional law with his judicial appointments, what can he do for an encore? He can cripple the military and gamble America's future on his ability to sit down with enemy nations and talk them out of causing trouble.

Senator Obama's running mate, Senator Joe Biden, has for years shown the same easy-way-out mindset. Senator Biden has for decades opposed strengthening our military forces. In 1991, Biden urged relying on sanctions to get Saddam Hussein's troops out of Kuwait, instead of military force, despite the demonstrated futility of sanctions as a means of undoing an invasion.

People who think Governor Sarah Palin didn't handle some "gotcha" questions well in a couple of interviews show no interest in how she compares to the Democrats' Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Biden.

Joe Biden is much more of the kind of politician the mainstream media like. Not only is he a liberal's liberal, he answers questions far more glibly than Governor Palin-- grossly inaccurately in many cases, but glibly.

Moreover, this is a long-standing pattern with Biden. When he was running for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination back in 1987, someone in the audience asked him what law school he attended and how well he did.

Flashing his special phony smile, Biden said, "I think I have a much higher IQ than you do." He added, "I went to law school on a full academic scholarship" and "ended up in the top half" of the class.

But Biden did not have a full academic scholarship. Newsweek reported: "He went on a half scholarship based on need. He didn't finish in the 'top half' of his class. He was 76th out of 85."

Add to Obama and Biden House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and you have all the ingredients for a historic meltdown.

PIZZA

From Knowledge is Power:

• A leftist argues about the fairest way to slice a pizza.
• A radical leftist demands that they must do the slicing and screams at anyone telling them how to slice it.
• A communist leftist cuts a larger slice for themself and shoots anyone who complains.
• A nazi leftist wears a uniform to lunch and refuses to give a slice to undesirables.
• A sophisticated leftist argues about the shape and thickness of the pizza, the quality of the ingredients, and the proper etiquette for eating one’s slice.
• A union leftist complains about the requirement for the pizza worker to actually make an edible pizza at all.
• A community-organizer leftist gets everyone to bang their forks on the table while waiting.
• A guilt-baiting leftist hopes you’ll choke on your slice.
• A race-baiting leftist wants to separate the toppings.
• A diversity leftist demands that you eat all the toppings, even if you don’t like anchovies.
• A reparations leftists wants an addition slice, because his great-great-great-grandma didn’t get one.
• A passivist leftist will let a bully steal another kid’s slice… to avoid trouble.
• A gun-control leftist wants to slice the pizza without a knife but rather with a registered, dulled roller-cutter stored in a locked drawer.
• A green leftist whines about artificial ingredients and the oven.
• A busy-body leftist wants high-fat pizza banned.
• A legalize-it leftist wants a high-fat slice for medicinal purposes.
• A vegitarian leftist wants to keep meat toppings off the pizza… then argues about keeping the cheese.
• A hippie leftist doesn’t want to pay for their slice, man.
• A tree-hugger leftists wants you to send their slice right up.
• An journalist leftist demands a health department white-glove inspection… unless a leftist made the pizza, whereupon they dismiss complaints of rat droppings as right-wing paranoia.
• An academic leftist writes about the stupidity of the whole pizza… thing.
• A blogger leftist links to this post, rants that I advocate taking slices from the poor and giving them to the rich, and adds a PayPal link to buy them pizza.

• An entrepreneur just makes another pizza… and another…
in a variety of sizes, slice patterns, ingredients, and prices.
If they sell well, he hires people to make even more pizzas.

• A Democrat considers every second pizza… tax.

WILL THIS ATTITUDE IMPROVE THE ECOMONY?
"If somebody wants to build a coal power plant they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted," Barack Obama said to the San Francisco Chronicle in January. (WSAZ)
And this lovely little quote (found at Hot Air):
"You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know — Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers."
Of course, that was before that attitude became a political liability and he had to increase his lie-ability. Like he has on so very, very many issues.

Now that is campaign is creating a record, he can no longer rely on the blank screen he created by erasing his past and he can no longer rely on the lack in inquiry into that blank past by the MSM acting as his personal press corps.

HOPEfully his phony two-faced reality will CHANGE the public's perception of him as the new Jesus in time to avoid catastrophe.

REPEATING THE OBAMESSIAH'S OWN WORDS IS NOT ONLY RACIST, IT'S "DISHONORABLE"

"Senator Obama said the other day that his primary victory vindicated his faith in America," Senator McCain said, to loud booing from the audience.

"My friends, my country's never had to prove anything to me.

"I've always had faith in it and the great honour of my life was to have served it," the former US Navy pilot and prisoner of war said.

An Obama spokesman scorned Senator McCain's comments, describing them as "pathetic" and a sign of a "dishonourable, desperate" campaign. (from ABC)

That's right. John McCain is "dishonorable." A man who has spent his whole life serving his country is called dishonorable by a man who has spent his whole life serving himself.

And wanting to keep the money you've earned? That's "selfish."

And not wanting to pay higher taxes? That's "unpatriotic."

I think it's very telling that Obama can only have faith in his country when it nominates him for president. His wife has said the same thing.

John McCain, on the other hand, as well as Sarah Palin, never tire of considering their nominations as and honor and a privilege.

Obama serves Obama. McCain serves his country. That is the big difference, and apparently, that also makes him "dishonorable."

FLAT STANLEY'S EVIL TWIN

Mark Steyn on 3 dimensions vs. 2 dimensions:

(Tuesday night) We’ll know by then whether an entire constitutional republic has decided to contract marriage with a two-dimensional character and to attempt to take up residence in the two-dimensional world. For many of his supporters, Barack Obama is an idea. He offers “hope, not fear”. “Hope” of what? “Hope” of “change.” Okay, but “change” to what? Ah, well, there you go again, getting all hung up on three-dimensional reality, when we’ve moved way beyond that. I don’t know which cartoon character Taichi Takashita is eyeing as his betrothed, but up in the sky Obamaman is flying high, fighting for Hope, Change, and a kind of Post-Modern American Way...

Even if you’re not hung up on white liberal guilt or Bush loathing, there’s an urge to get it over with, to say, well, America should have a black president, and the sooner the better...

And why not? Obama in the White House, Obama on the dollar bill, Obama on Rushmore would symbolize the possibilities of America more than that narrow list of white-bread protestant presidents to date...

The problem is we’re not electing a symbol, a logo, a two-dimensional image. Long before he emerged on the national stage as Barack the Hope-Giver and Bringer of Change, there was a three-dimensional Barack Obama, a real man who lives in the real world. And that’s where the problem lies.

The Senator and his doting Obots in the media have gone to great lengths to obscure what Barack Obama does when he’s not being a symbol: his voting record, his friends, his patrons, his life outside the soft-focus memoirs is deemed non-relevant to the general hopey-changey vibe. But occasionally we get a glimpse. The offhand aside to Joe the Plumber about “spreading the wealth around” was revealing because it suggests a crude redistributive view of “social justice.” Yet the nimble Hope-a-Dope sidestepper brushed it aside, telling a crowd in Raleigh that next John McCain will be “accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in kindergarten.”

But that too is revealing. As John Hood pointed out at National Review, communism is not “sharing.” In a free society, the citizen chooses whether to share his Lego, trade it for some Thomas the Tank Engine train tracks, or keep it to himself. From that freedom of action grow mighty Playmobile cities. Communism is compulsion. It’s the government confiscating your Elmo to “share” it with someone of its choice. Joe the Plumber is free to spread his own wealth around — hiring employees, buying supplies from local businesses, enjoying surf’n’turf night at his favorite eatery. But, in Obama’s world view, that’s not good enough: the state is the best judge of how to spread Joe the Plumber’s wealth around....

On Tuesday many Americans will vote for the two-dimensional Obama — the image, the idea, the “hope”. But it will be the three-dimensional Obama — the real man with the real record — that America will have to live with.
WONDER WHY OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IS SO BAD?

Un-freakin-believable. THIS is the "education" brought to you by the left. It's destroyed England. Check out how the kind, highly-evolved beings of light here are working to do the same to us. From Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler:

During art class Tuesday, Jordan drew a scarred vampire with bloodshot eyes and with blood dripping from its nose, mouth and down its cheeks. Art teacher Lloyd Harold helped the boy shade the sketched eyes to give the drawing an even creepier look.

“The assignment was to draw a scary mask or picture - basically a Halloween activity,” Harold said.

Got it. Kid gets assignment to draw scary mask because well, you know, it’s Halloween and all that jazz. Kid draws scary vampire mask with some assistance from the art teacher. So where’s the story?

Oh, I think we all know where this is headed, don’t we?

As a final gory touch, Jordan used a red marker to write “I Kill For Blood” under his drawing.

Yes, that’s what vampires do. At least according to the generally accepted version of that particular bit of folklore. Apparently it’s what they use for nutrition. Pretty basic stuff there. At least he didn’t add “I don’t like sunlight very much.”

The picture was not destined for the cover of Fangoria magazine, but it fulfilled the requirement for fifth-grade Halloween art.

However, when Jordan’s homeroom teacher, Melissa Pevey, saw the drawing, she found it disturbing. Pevey was concerned enough to contact assistant principal Valerie Johnson and Campus Police.

W.T.F.? Over?

Maybe it would have been more proper to contact, I don’t know, the fucking ART TEACHER if she absolutely, positively HAD to do something about that awful, horrible, making-her-wet-her-panties SCAAAARY drawing. But oh no, she ran off to the head office and the campus Gestapo right away. After stopping by the cafeteria for two dozen cloves of garlic, we suppose.

But it wasn’t blood and gore that bothered Pevey. She believed the blood looked a lot like gang-related teardrop tattoos,

Well… That’s because they’re, how about this, fucking TEARDROPS. You see, Miss Peepants, according to most literature mentioning the suspect, vampires cry blood. The kid is actually pretty well read for a fifth grader, and certainly better read than the hysterical bovine twat supposed to teach him.

and she thought the words “I Kill For Blood” could be tied to an infamous Los Angeles street gang known as The Bloods.

Because, as we all know, The Bloods are positively lousy with 12-year-olds dressing up like vampires. Better report those awful organizations running blood donor drives as well while you’re at it. What, with all of their scary “we need your blood” talk.

Burnsed said the district has asked teachers to be wary of anything that might be harmful to students. He also said the district has provided gang-identification training.

Maybe they should sit their dumb arses down in a chair and force them to read some literature instead. We suggest they start with Bram Stoker and Anne Rice.

He did not know whether classroom teachers were trained in gang symbolism.

At this point I’m not willing to say for sure that they’re trained in anything other than pissing their pants and collecting their paychecks. And that’s being generous.

“The teacher was concerned and referred it to the Campus Police,” Burnsed said. “(Campus Police Capt. Joan) Sasser wasn’t sure that it meant anything.”

Proving that Mrs. Sasser was the only adult on hand with a functional brain.

So the kid’s art teacher confirms that it was an assignment and that he actually helped the kid do it, the Campus Police aren’t sure that it means anything at all… End of story, right? Of course not. They had to do SOMETHING, didn’t they. To simply wave it off as the hysterical overreaction of a subretarded Nanny Pussy and forget it ever happened would be too much of an admission to being a bunch of incompetent, overpaid, underworked, drooling imbeciles. Also known as “the truth.”

So they resolved the issue by requiring Jordan to undergo psychological testing with Gateway Mental Health.

The only people in dire need of a trip to the shrink would be the gaggle of gargantuan gimpweasels masquerading as educators at that particular institution of non-learning.

Yeah, the publik skool system is such a success, isn’t it?

DOES THIS SUM UP WHAT OBAMA IS ALL ABOUT OR WHAT?
Ace of Spades commenter: “Obama’s aunt is here ILLEGALLY living in poverty, and is a deportation FUGITIVE. She’s collecting WELFARE and has DONATED to Obama’s campaign, ILLEGALLY! Obama. Family in poverty as he makes millions. Complete lawlessness. Giveaway your hard earned tax payer money to illegal fugitives. CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN.”
I know, it sounds like a joke, but it's for real. Michelle Malkin has the total lowdown on this.

YET ANOTHER SIGN OF THE FREE-SPEECH CRACK-DOWN TO COME

From Moonbattery:

An editorial at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette denounces conservative domination of talk radio as "un-American" and stridently calls for the imposition of the Orwellian "Fairness Doctrine" to put an end to it by having liberal bureaucrats micromanage the political content of any speech made over radio.

Actually, nothing could be more American than conservatives, all but locked out of print and television media, finding an alternative venue for their views. But you can't expect liberal totalitarians to be reasonable — especially when they anticipate having the whip hand. Check out this reasoning:

The Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannitys have been given dominance from coast to coast, turning much of talk radio into a heated debate where only one side is heard. While such gabfests draw their share of listeners, a diverse lineup is likely to attract more ears, hence more advertisers and more dollars. And isn't that what the radio conglomerates want anyway?

Obviously there's no need for the government to force broadcasters to behave in their own financial interest. If anyone wanted to listen to moonbats on the radio, Air America wouldn't need to steal from charities to stay afloat.

Not that the Unfairness Doctrine would put more Randi Rodent types on the radio anyway. The idea is to make the bureaucratic requirements so onerous that radio stations will give up on the political talk format and play music or drone about gardening.

By the way, Rush and Sean were not "given dominance." They earned dominance, by serving a need. That's what capitalism is all about, and capitalism — i.e., economic freedom — along with freedom of political speech, is what America is all about.

THIS GUY IS MY NEW HERO! WOW!!!!

He's in my links list: Zo

HE WHO IS NOT A COMMUNIST IS A HATEFUL SELFISH DEVIL

"John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic," Obama continued. "You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness."

Got that? You want to keep the money you earn and decide for yourself who to help with it and that makes you a selfish asshole. Bet ya didn't realize that, didja? The funny thing is that Republicans give more to charity than Democrats. I guess they are just giving to be selfish. From Patterico's:

Looking at Obama’s charitable giving in since 2000 based on his tax returns, we find that Obama consistently refused to follow his own advice to “spread the wealth” when he had the opportunity to do so. This is especially true in years when he made nearly $250,000 or more. . . . [F]rom 2000-2004, Obama’s charitable giving was less than 1 percent.

His contributions increased after his book deal, to a maximum of 6.1% of income in 2006.

Obama’s running mate, Joe Biden, was even stingier about spreading his wealth. When his tax records were released in September, they revealed that over the past decade he had only donated an average of $369 each year. In 2007, his charitable giving was only $995, or 0.3 percent of income in a year when his tax returns reported $319,853 in income.

By comparison, John McCain gave more than one-quarter of his income in 2006 and 2007 (28.6 and 27.3 percent respectively). And according to the New York Observer, since 1998, he has donated royalties on his books totaling more than $1.8 million.

From Ace:

I guess if you're not willing to "spread the wealth around," you're making a "virtue out of selfishness."

Maybe Obama and his running mate could try spreading some of their own wealth around first. My wife and I make far less than Joe Biden, but we on average give more to charity per year than the presumably un-selfish Democrat vice presidential candidate.

Obama is also ignoring the fact that overall, those in 'red states' (the bitter, clinging, selfish ones) give more to charity on average than those in blue. We're not 'selfish,' Senator. We would like to be the ones who choose where our hard-earned cash goes rather than leave that decision in the hands of you, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

WELL PEDDLED SNAKE-OIL BOUGHT BY THE BOXFULL

Now where would anyone get the idea that he's socialist? I just don't understand it! (sigh)

PEACE AND LOVE IN THE NORTHWEST

Shades of Kristalnacht. Another preview of what the next 8 years may be like if the worst comes to pass. From Moonbattery:

Halloween isn't all about treats. There are also tricks — that is, vandalism. Seattle's progressive The Stranger helpfully instructs its moonbat readership on where this should take place, providing pictures of area houses with McCain and/or GOP gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi yard signs, along with their addresses in prominent type.

If these houses happen get trashed, it's no worse than the owners deserve for failing to follow The One. Welcome to the political landscape of Obama Nation.

The article even quotes Edmund Burke:

No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning as fear.

This is why liberals have deliberately created a climate in which people don't dare express public support for Republicans, lest their cars get keyed or their houses firebombed.
